PRINCETON — Shannon Denise Smith of Grantham and Paul Miguel Saldivar exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Aug. 22 at 4 p.m. at the Gurley House, with the Rev. Jim Turbyfill officiating.

The bride is the daughter of David and Jan Smith of Grantham and James and Theresa Turbyfill of Mount Olive and the granddaughter of the late Wymond Lee and Velma Grady Smith of Dudley, Jim and Eunice Turbyfill of Grantham and Ray Jenkins Jr. and the late Carol Ann Jenkins of Pikeville.

She is a 2006 graduate of Southern Wayne High School and attended Wayne Community College for basic study. She is employed as a supervisor at RGIS.

The groom is the son of Pablo and Teresa Saldivar of Grantham and the grandson of Santos Saldivar and Lucia Saldivar of Mexico and Anneta Lucas Davis and the late George Clayton Davis of Snow Hill.

He attended Southern Wayne High School. He is employed as a construction worker at Good Ol’ Boys Concrete and Construction.

The bride was escorted by her father and stepfather and given in marriage by her parents and family.

She wore a white strapless southern belle-style dress with a fitted bodice adorned with diamonds and sequins that flowed into layers of ruffles and a cathedral-length train.

She carried a bouquet of calla lilies covered with a pearl wrap.

Her headpiece was three-tiered with diamonds and pearls and a veil accented with diamonds and pearls.

Monica Brimberry was her sister’s matron of honor, while Amanda Smith, sister of the bride, was maid of honor.

Bridesmaids were Niki Williams, cousin of the bride, and Jessica Hamilton, aunt of the bride.

Pablo Saldivar was the best man.

Groomsmen were Chris Brimberry, brother-in-law of the groom, and Ryan Jefferson and Mason Jordan, friends of the groom.

Ushers were Jordan Smith, brother of the bride, and Matthew Brimberry, nephew of the groom.

Allyson Brimberry, niece of the groom, was the junior bride. Caelan Smith, brother of the bride, was the junior groom.

Mya Jenkins, cousin of the bride, was flower girl. Caden Hamilton, cousin of the bride, was ringbearer.

Melissa Sutton directed the wedding. Hunter Williams and Josh Jenkins, cousins of the bride, distributed programs.

A program of wedding music was provided by Ron Sutton, vocalist.

Special helpers were Jennifer Martin, Dawn Downer, Tammy Ester, Pat Gurley, Larry Bill, Chris and Jessica Hamilton, Jim and Eunice Turbyfill, Mindi Godinez, Missy Davis and Ron and Melissa Sutton.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Gurley House. And a celebration was held in Grantham.

After their wedding trip to Orlando, Fla., the couple will reside in Grantham.

Events held before the wedding included an engagement party at the home of Johnny Jenkins hosted by Jenkins; a lingerie shower at the home of Dawn Downer hosted by Ms. Downer and Theresa Turbyfill; a bridal shower at the home of Teresa Saldivar hosted by Ms. Saldivar; and bachelor/bachelorette parties at Heros, Texas Steakhouse and AMF.

The couple’s families hosted a rehearsal dinner at the Gurley House.
