Rayburn-Talton
PIKEVILLE — Rusti Danielle Talton of Pikeville and Patrick Ryan Rayburn of Pikeville exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Oct. 3 at 3 p.m. at Pikeville Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church, with the Rev Don Sauls officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Rusty and Tammy Gurganus Talton of Pikeville and the granddaughter of Marion and Annette Sasser Talton of Pikeville and the late George “Buddy” and Joyce Tyndall Gurganus of Goldsboro.
She is a 2009 graduate of Wayne Community College’s dental assisting program, with academic and clinical achievement awards. She is employed as a certified dental assistant at Carlyle Dental in Kinston.
The groom is the son of Ryan Vance Rayburn of Middletown, Conn., and Glenda Self Rayburn of Mobile, Ala., and the grandson of R.V. and Pat Rayburn of Homasassa, Fla., Doug Self of Lake Village, Ark., and Floree Self of Lucedale, Miss.
He is employed as an air traffic controller with the United States Army.
The couple resides in Watertown, N.Y.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
She wore a lace trumpet gown with a beaded empire waist and a pleated satin bodice.
Her headpiece was a fingertip-length veil of sheer silk illusion bordered with pearl beading.
The bride carried a bouquet of white roses and a stargazer lily with hanging pearl beads.
Kelly L Ezzell was her sister’s matron of honor.
Bridesmaids were Brooke Newell and Courtney Tyner, friends of the couple, and Paige Peele, cousin of the bride.
Ryan Rayburn was his son’s best man.
Groomsmen were Chris Ezzell, brother-in-law of the bride; Michael Gurganus, cousin of the bride; and Terry Smith, cousin of the groom.
Haylee Ezzell, niece of the bride, was flower girl. Cohen Ezzell, nephew of the bride, and Jake Helley, nephew of the groom, were ringbearers.
David Gurganus, cousin of the bride, and Miranda Tate, cousin of the groom, were the candlelighters.
Amanda Helley, sister of the groom, directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Emily Sasser, friend of the bride.
A program of wedding music was provided by Julia Lancaster, friend of the bride, and Marty Gurganus, cousin of the bride, vocalists, and Kristin Williams, pianist.
Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents held a pig picking and dance reception at the home of Marion and Annette Talton, grandparents of the bride. Debbie Moore, aunt of the bride, was director. Mr. and Mrs. Danny Gurganus, uncle and aunt of the bride, and Mr. and Mrs. Chris Sasser, Mr. and Mrs. J.V. Hill and Bobbie Jo Tyndall, friends of the bride, greeted guests. Shelly Peele, aunt of the bride, and Barbara Tate, aunt of the groom, served the wedding cake.
Events held before the wedding included a bridal shower Sept. 13 at Pikeville Church hosted by Jane Lancaster, Sissy Sasser, Susan Gurganus and Nancy Hill; a bridal shower Sept. 20 at the home of bride’s grandparents hosted by Shelly Peele; a bridal luncheon Sept. 20 at Kobe’s in Smithfield during which time the bride presented gifts to her attendants; and a lingerie shower Sept. 26 at the home of Emily Sasser hosted by Ms. Sasser, Kelly Ezzell, Courntey Tyner, Brooke Newell and Amanda Helley.
The groom’s father hosted the rehearsal dinner Oct. 2 at Pupetta’s restaurant.
