SNOW HILL — Amanda Michelle Hill of Snow Hill and Matthew Hill Lovett exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Aug. 1 at 3 p.m. at Free Gospel Church, with the Rev. Larry Turlington officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Martha Corbett Hill of Snow Hill and the late Gregory Lawrence Hill of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of Oscar Leonard of Surf City, Hilda Westbrook Hill of Goldsboro and Mary Bean Corbett and the late John Hector Corbett of Snow Hill.

She is a graduate of Spring Creek High School, a 2006 graduate of Wayne Community College with a degree in medical office and a 2009 graduate of Lenoir Community College with a degree in radiology. She is employed as a radiologic technologist at Lenoir Memorial Hospital.

The groom is the son of Gary Franklin Lovett and Dianne Hill Lovett of Snow Hill and the grandson of the late Horace Franklin, Pattie Smith Lovett and Envid and Helen Hart Hill of Snow Hill.

He is a graduate of Greene Central High School and a 2006 graduate of Wayne Community College with a degree in livestock and poultry. He is employed with Goldsboro Milling Co.

The bride was escorted by her cousin, Larry Hicks, and given in marriage by her family.

She wore a white satin strapless A-line gown with organza and a Basque waist with floral beading and embroidery on the bodice and skirt with a semi-cathedral train.

Her headpiece was an elbow-length one-tiered veil.

The bride carried a bouquet of star gazer lilies, calla lilies, fuchsia orchids and freesia accented with greenery and crosstied with fuchsia and green ribbon.

Kathryn Dean and Emily Kearney were their friend’s matrons of honor.

Bridesmaids were Christy Hill, cousin of the bride; Kristin Beaman, friend of the bride; and Jessica Lovett, cousin of the groom.

Gary Lovett was his son’s best man.

Groomsmen were Berry Pate, Donny Head, Jon Davis, and Westley Dean, friends of the groom.

Ushers were Josh and Jacob Lovett, brothers of the groom, and Derek Burress, cousin of the bride.

Ava Grayce Kearney, friend of the couple, was flower girl. Brady Wayne Anderson, friend of the couple, was ringbearer.

Tanya Martin directed the wedding. Presiding at the register and distributing programs was Hayes Lovett, cousin of the groom.

A program of wedding music was provided by Sheila Heath, pianist, and Scott Tyson, vocalist.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the church fellowship hall.

After their wedding trip to Myrtle Beach, S.C., the couple will reside in Snow Hill.

Events held before the wedding included a bridal shower April 25 at Jerusalem Church hosted by Teresa Burress, aunt of the bride, Melissa Hicks, cousin of the bride, and the bride’s mother; a couple’s shower May 1 at Free Gospel Church hosted by the groom’s family at Free Gospel Church; a Pampered Chef shower May 9 at the home of Emily Kearney hosted by Ms. Kearney, friend of the couple; a girl’s night July 17 hosted by friends of the bride; a lingerie shower July 25 at the home of Emily Kearney hosted by Ms. Kearney; and a guy’s night July 25 hosted by friends of the groom.

The groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner July 31 at Wilber’s Barbecue. The couple chose this time to present gifts to their attendants.
