Linda Kay Lancaster and Christopher Barrett Malpass exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Aug. 15 at 3 p.m. at St. Luke United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Thomas G. Holtsclaw officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Terry Wayne and Dorothy Creech Lancaster of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of the late Earl Lancaster and Grace Head Lancaster-Sauls and the late Marvin and Christine Thompson Creech of Goldsboro.

She is a 2004 graduate of Southern Wayne High School and a 2009 graduate of Wayne Community College with an associate degree in dental assisting. She is employed at B and G Grill and Restaurant.

The groom is the son of Robert Chris and Andrea Holtsclaw Malpass of Goldsboro and the grandson of Christine Price Malpass and the late Robert L. Malpass of Goldsboro and Thomas G. and Jan Mason Holtsclaw of Roxboro.

He is a 2004 graduate of Spring Creek High School and attended Wayne Community College. He is employed with Hag Inc.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

She wore a white ballgown adorned with beaded lace and button detailing on the back that flowed into a cathedral-length train. It had a bateau neckline with cap sleeves.

Her headpiece was a tiara with a fingertip beaded veil.

The carried a bouquet of hydrangeas, calla lilies, roses and bells of Ireland.

Lisa Lancaster Hinson and Brenda Lancaster Thornton were their sister’s matrons of honor.

Bridesmaids were Elgie Scott Cotter, Jennifer Renea Hix, Halye Elizabeth Spivey and Brittany Cole Stocks, friends of the bride.

Robert Chris Malpass, father of groom, and Taylor Malpass, brother of groom, were best men.

Groomsmen were Benion Lewis Haggard, William Brooks Jones, Clyde H. Mattocks and Al D. Cotter, friends of the groom; Nicholas Brian Hinson, brother in-law of the bride; and Jason Thomas Holtsclaw, uncle of the groom.

Briannah Kay Hinson and Gracie Kaelynn Hinson, nieces of the bride, were flower girls. Kaeden Brian Hinson, nephew of the bride, was ringbearer.

Emily Peacock directed the wedding. Presiding at the register were Dee Williford and Samantha Schuler, friends of the family. Melissa Sutton, friend of the family, distributed programs.

A program of wedding music was provided by Sherry Aycock, vocalist; Bess Edwards-Sawyer, organist; and Doug Tart, trumpeter.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the church fellowship hall.

After their wedding trip, the couple will reside in Goldsboro.

Events held before the wedding included a gift card shower in June hosted by the Adults for Christ Sunday school class at Bethel United Methodist Church; a miscellaneous shower June 28 at the home of Lisa Lancaster Hinson hosted by the bride’s mother and sisters; a lawn and garden shower July 30 at Texas Steakhouse hosted by friends of the couple from Tommy’s Road Elementary School; a shower and musical jam session July 31 at Raintree pool house hosted by Taylor Malpass, brother of the groom, and his girlfriend, Brittany Stocks; a lingerie shower July 25 hosted by the bridal attendants; a Christmas shower Aug. 7 hosted by co-workers of the bride; and a bridal luncheon Aug. 14. at Goldsboro Country Club hosted by Jan M. Holtsclaw, grandmother of the groom.

A rehearsal dinner was held at B and G Grill and Restaurant.
