WINTERVILLE — Tammy Leigh Donaldson and Marcus Adam Pennington exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony June 6 at 4 p.m. at Immanuel Free Will Baptist Church, with the Rev. Ben Gibson officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Brad and Debbie Toler Donaldson of Winterville and the granddaughter of the late James and Clarice Donaldson and the late Kenneth and Mary Toler of Winterville.

She graduated from South Central High School in 2006 and Wayne Community College in 2008 with a certification as a dental assistant. She attended Pitt Community.

The groom is the son of Rex and Jan Bunn Pennington of Goldsboro and the grandson of the late Milford Earl and Betty McLawhon Pennington of Goldsboro and Buster and Betty Howell Bunn of Pikeville.

He graduated from Charles B. Aycock High School in 2002. He attended Wayne Community College. He is serving in the United States Army.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

She wore a white Japanese satin, strapless paneled A-line gown. It had a sweetheart high-cut bodice front with a lower cut back detailed with beaded embroidery that wrapped around the skirt and train.

Her headpiece was a silver beaded tiara with a single-layered veil beaded around the edges.

The bride carried a bouquet of fresh-cut Gerber daisies.

Carrie Stanton was her sister’s matron of honor, while Kimberly Donaldson, sister of the bride, was maid of honor.

Bridesmaids were Danielle Sergent-Rakers, Jony Hart and Michelle Foss, friends of the bride, and Amy Cristman and Victoria Thompson, cousins of the bride.

Rex Pennington was his son’s best man.

Groomsmen were Philip Pennington and Daniel Pennington, brothers of the groom; Trey Huffman, cousin of the groom; Chad Honeycutt and Jason Scott, friends of the groom; and Ryan Stanton, brother-in-law of bride.

Ushers were Lee Christman, cousin-in-law of bride, and Justin Manning and Christopher White, friends of the groom.

Kaylee Stanton, niece of bride, was flower girl. Jackson Hart, friend of the couple, was ringbearer.

Stephanie Oder, friend of the bride, directed the wedding, assisted by Donna Arp, friend of the bride. Presiding at the register was Summer Chase, friend of the couple. Catherine and Anne Stuart Freemon, cousins of the groom, distributed programs.

A program of wedding music was provided by Bobby Manning and Bill Oder, sound technicians, and Jeff Barker and Fawn Gibson, friends of the bride, Matt Bartlett and the groom, vocalists.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Rock Springs Jockey Club in Greenville.

After their wedding trip to Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Walt Disney World, Fla., the couple will reside in Fayetteville.

Events held before the wedding included a miscellaneous shower April 26 hosted by the bride’s church and a wedding shower brunch May 9 hosted by aunts and uncles of the groom.

The groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at Immanuel Free Will Baptist church fellowship hall.
