Charity Nichole Davis and William Todd Willoughby exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony April 4 at 4 p.m. at Faith Free Will Baptist Church, with the Rev. Dann Patrick and the Rev. Duane Rush officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Joseph Samuel and Roxie Peele Davis of Princeton and the granddaughter of Hazel Davis and the late Nathan Davis of Fremont, Mr. and Mrs. David Peele of Princeton and Mr. and Mrs. Geoffrey Pearce of Dudley.

She graduated from Faith Christian Academy in 2002 and from Southeastern Free Will Baptist College in 2006. She is employed as a high school English teacher at Faith Christian Academy.

The groom is the son of Melvin Glen Willoughby Sr. and Mary Lou Edwards Willoughby of Princeton and the grandson of the late Jack and Alice Willoughby of Kenly and Leo Edwards and the late Mae Thorne Edwards of Princeton.

He graduated from Wayne Christian School in 1997, Johnston Community College in 2002 and Wilson Tech in 2004.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

She wore a cap-sleeved princess-line satin gown adorned with Madeira lace, pearl, crystal and sequin beading and a semi-cathedral train.

Her headpiece was a beaded crystal comb and beaded veil.

The bride carried a bouquet of white hydrangeas, roses and miniature calla lilies.

Christie Woodard of Princeton was her friend’s matron of honor, while Cara Smith of Goldsboro, friend of the bride, was maid of honor.

Bridesmaids were Amy Willoughby of Goldsboro, sister of the groom; Summer Ungerer of Wilson and Kristin Lewis of Willow Springs, cousins of the bride; Fran Dillard of Gastonia, Amber Griffin of Peru, Dawn Phillips of Virginia and Melissa Mann of Cary, friends of the bride.

Melvin Willoughby Sr. was his son’s best man.

Groomsmen were Wayne Smith of LaGrange, friend of the groom; Melvin Willoughby Jr., of Princeton, brother of the groom; Hunter Davis of Princeton, brother of the bride; Trent Lewis of Willow Springs, cousin of the bride; Brooks Woodard of Princeton and McClain Davis of LaGrange, friends of the groom; and Jack Edwards of Princeton and Michael Dorsey of Clayton, cousins of the groom.

Katelyn Pilkington of Princeton, friend of the groom, was flower girl. Will Edwards of Princeton, cousin of the groom, and Corben Woodard of Princeton, friend of the couple, were ringbearers.

Candle lighters were Aaron Ungerer of Wilson and Steven Gwaltney of Fremont, cousins of the bride.

Brooke Whitley, Kayla Davis, Nichole Davis and Addison Ungerer, cousins of the bride, were special attendants.

Paula Jones directed the wedding. Presiding at the register and serving as honorary bridesmaids were Holly Ream of Dunn, Laura Guelfi of Goldsboro and Ashley Ray of Georgia. Brittany Dale, Bethany Dale and Courtney Dale of Princeton distributed programs.

Joshua Davis and Daniel Gwaltney, cousins of the bride were bell ringers.

A program of wedding music was provided by Susan Denton and Jodi Rush, pianists; and Amber Winders, Kevin Denton, Amy Willoughby and Melvin Willoughby, vocalists.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the church fellowship hall.

After a wedding trip to Orlando, Fla., the couple resides in Princeton.

Events held before the wedding included a Christmas shower Jan. 3 at the home of Denise Worley, cousin of the groom; a shower Jan. 24 at Trinity Baptist Church hosted by the groom’s family and church; a shower Feb. 28 at the home of Christie Woodard hosted by the bridesmaids; a shower March 2 hosted by ladies of Faith Free Will Baptist Church; a shower March 7 at Faith Free Will Baptist Church hosted by the bride’s family; a surprise shower March 27 hosted by students of the bride; and a bridesmaids’ brunch and pampering April 3 hosted by the bride and her mother during which time the bride presented gifts to her attendants.

The groom’s family held a rehearsal dinner April 3 at the church. The groom chose this time to present gifts to his attendants.
