RALEIGH — Leah Katharyn Horton and Todd Wells Groff exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony April 4 at 2:30 p.m. at Providence Baptist Church’s Delta Lake Center, with Pastor Chip Bugnar officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Wallace and Ramona Horton of Mount Olive and the granddaughter of Archie and Edna Horton of Macclesfield and of David and Madeline Gardner of Pinetops.

She is a 2004 graduate of Wayne Christian School and a 2008 graduate of North Carolina State University with a Bachelor of Social Work degree. She is employed as assistant director at Gateway campus site of Lifecare Pregnancy Center in Raleigh.

The groom is the son of Matthew and Joyce Groff of Wilmington and the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. James Durant Cashion of Charlotte and the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Wade Groff of Danville, Va.

He is a 2004 graduate of Hoggard High School in Wilmington and a 2008 graduate of North Carolina State University with a degree in communication. He is employed as a financial services officer at the State Employee’s Credit Union Call Center in Raleigh.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

She wore a diamond white gown of taffeta with an off-the-shoulder neckline. The bodice gown was enhanced with asymmetrical pleating and a lace-up corset back leading into the chapel-length train.

Her headpiece was a fingertip veil of silk illusion with soutache edging.

The bride carried a bouquet of white calla lilies, Casablanca lilies and tulips.

Dana Horton Hughling of Fort Worth, Texas, was her sister’s matron of honor, while Cristina Wase (while serving overseas) was her sister’s maid of honor.

Bridesmaids were Kate Horton of Wake Forest, Liz Groff of Wilmington, Austin Branch, Melissa Clapp of Raleigh, Katherine Fallis, Jill Wachtel and Shelly Tkach of Raleigh, Carrie Kelley of Albany, Ga., Tiffany Lillard of Greensboro and Erin Sanders of LaGrange.

Matt Groff, father of the groom, and Tyler Groff, brother of the groom were best men.

Groomsmen were Tim Horton of Wake Forest, Jordan Bunn, Michael Cherry, Rob Clark, Matt Conley, Pritesh Garach and Matt McCoy of Raleigh and Tyler LeVan of Mooresville.

Hannah Harkins and Heather Harkins, cousins of the bride, were flower girls. Max Brietz, cousin of the groom, was ringbearer.

Frances Newby directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Ashley Horton, cousin of the bride. Rebecca Williford and Nicole Gardner, cousins of the bride, distributed programs.

A program of wedding music was provided by Rachel Groff, sister-in-law of the groom, pianist and vocalist; Daniel Renstrom, guitarist and vocalist; Ben Salmon and Lindsey Parker, vocalists ;and Caroline Mullis, cellist.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Royal Banquet and Conference Center in Raleigh. Greeters were girls from a college Bible Study led by the bride.

After a wedding trip to the Dominican Republic, the couple resides in Raleigh.

Events held before the wedding included a kitchen and bath shower Feb. 7 at the home of Connie Barnes, co-worker of the bride hosted by Ms. Barnes and Temarie Kendall, co-worker of the bride; a room-to-room shower Feb. 8 at Providence Baptist Church hosted by the Raleigh bridesmaids; a Bed Bath and Beyond and recipe shower Feb. 21 at the Olde English Tea Room in Wake Forest hosted by Kate Horton and Joyce Horton; a miscellaneous shower Feb. 22 hosted by the BYKOTA class of Love Memorial Baptist Church; and a girls’ getaway weekend March 20 and 21 in Atlantic Beach hosted by the North Carolina State bridesmaids.

The groom’s family hosted a rehearsal dinner at the Cardinal City Club.
