PIKEVILLE — Elizabeth Ann Christopher and Dillon Earl Fleming of Pikeville exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony March 21 at 5 p.m. at Pleasant Grove Free Will Baptist Church, with Don Fleming, uncle of the groom, officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Kevin Parrish and Pattie Jones Christopher of Pikeville and the granddaughter of Charles Aaron Christopher and the late Elizabeth Parrish Christopher of Goldsboro and Commie Newman and Ann Davis Jones of Pikeville.

She is a 2005 graduate of Faith Christian Academy. She is pursuing a degree in nursing. She is employed as a pharmacy technician at Walgreens.

The groom is the son of Curtis Gregory and Robin Smith Sutton of LaGrange and the late Ted Grady Fleming of Pikeville and the grandson of Elois Radford Fleming and the late J.R. Fleming, Andrew Earl and Bessie Bedford Smith of Pikeville, Charles and Wanda Coburn of LaGrange and the late A.J. Sutton.

He is a 2004 graduate of North Lenoir High School. He is employed as a police officer with the Goldsboro Police Department.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

She wore a strapless white satin A-line gown with a beaded lace organza overlay.

Her headpiece was a tiara of rhinestones and pearls that extended into a finger-tipped veil enhanced with beading along the edge.

The bride carried a bouquet of white roses accented with pearl sprays, plumose and seeded eucalyptus.

Jennifer Christopher of Pikeville was her sister’s maid of honor.

Bridesmaids were Jessica Brannan, Laura Marshall and Kelli Gurley of Goldsboro, Holly Maldonado of Cary and Holly Dawson of Pikeville, friends of the bride, and Deanna Fleming of LaGrange, sister of the groom.

Curtis Sutton was his son’s best man.

Groomsmen were James Serlick and Jerimee Hooker of Pikeville and Kenny Prevost of Goldsboro, friends of the groom, and Landon Fleming and Jeremy Fleming of Pikeville and Stacy Candler of Princeton, cousins of the groom.

Anna Catherine Pender, cousin of the bride, and Emily Brook Thorne, friend of the bride, were flower girls. Andrew Thomas Pender, cousin of the bride, was ringbearer.

Adam Scott Pender, cousin of the bride, was bell ringer.

Paula Jones directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Kesley Fleming, cousin of the groom. Jason Vernatt and Avery Vernatt, cousins of the groom, distributed programs.

A program of wedding music was provided by Melissa Marcum, pianist, and Amber Winders and Micah Conlon, vocalists.

Following the ceremony, a dinner and dance reception was held at Walnut Creek Country Club.

After a wedding trip to Myrtle Beach, S.C., the couple resides in Pikeville.

Events held before the wedding included a Christmas shower Dec. 12 at the home of the couple hosted by Jessica Brannan and Holly Maldonado; a miscellaneous shower Jan. 25, at the home of Angie Thorne hosted by Ms. Thorne, Kathy Hawkins, Debbie Abernathy and Connie Pender; a girls’ night out Jan. 31 with dinner at Kobe in Smithfield hosted by Kathy Hawkins; a miscellaneous shower Feb. 21 at Living Waters Free Will Baptist Church hosted by Phyllis Candler, Larue Taylor, Dawn Vernatt, Malissa Sutton, Elizabeth Fleming, Kesley Fleming, Lisa Candler and Deanna Fleming, family members of the groom, and Kathy Lewis, friend of the groom; a miscellaneous shower Feb. 18 at Faith Free Will Baptist Church hosted by ladies of the church; a lingerie shower March 14 hosted by Holly Dawson, Laura Marshall and Kelli Gurley; and a bridal tea March 14 at the Royal Tea Room hosted by Kathy Hawkins and Connie Pender during which time the bride presented gifts to her attendants.

The groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner in the church fellowship hall.
