Seymour - Roach
WASHINGTON D.C. — Sonia Elizabeth Roach and Sheldon Seymour of Washington D.C. exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Nov. 29 at 4 p.m. at New Bethel Baptist Church, with the Rev. Dexter Nutall officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Raymond Roach and Brenda Renfrow-Roach of Washington D.C. and the granddaughter of David Renfrow and Esther Renfrow of Goldsboro.
She graduated from Trinity University in Washington D.C. in 2003 with a degree in English literature. She is employed as an executive assistant at The World Learning Organization.
The groom is the son of Glen Seymour of Chicago, Ill., and Lani Keliikoa of Oxon Hill, Md. He is employed as a licensed plumber at Raine and Sons Inc.
The bride was escorted and given in marriage by her father.
She wore a off white Roman-style full-length wedding gown with a crystal pin on the shoulder.
Jovanna Joyner was maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Rayna Russel-Roach, sister of the bride; Patrice Epps, godsister of the bride; and Shuntia Thompson, friend of the bride.
Aubrey Deolatch was best man.
Groomsmen were Andre Baker, Munir Abubaker and James White, friends of the groom.
Ushers were James Roach and Jermaine Roach, nephews of the bride.
Sydney Knigge, daughter of the bride; Joanaye Roach, niece of the bride; and Arianna Deolatch, goddaughter of the groom; were flower girls. Jordan Roach, nephew of the bride, was ringbearer.
The Rev. Patricia Johnson and Betty Straughter directed the wedding.
Hostesses were Paris Jordon and Valencia Bonds.
A program of wedding music was provided by Dr. Anthony Leach, pianist, along with a liturgical dance.
The couple resides in Washington D.C.
Events held before the wedding included a bridal shower hosted by Geraldine Renfrow-Shearod, aunt; a bachelorette party hosted by Jovana Joyner; and a bridal party hosted by Linda Renfrow of Goldsboro, aunt.
A rehearsal dinner was held at New Bethel Baptist Church.
