Braddock - Pittman
Ashley Nicole Pittman of Goldsboro and Eric Martin Braddock of Jacksonville exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Nov. 15 at 4 p.m. at Rosewood First Baptist Church, with Pastor Larry Bostian officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Gregory Pittman and Janet Pittman of Rosewood and the granddaughter of Ruby Pittman and the late Maurice Pittman of Fayetteville and Joseph Butler Sr. of Yorktown, Va.
She is a 2005 graduate of Rosewood High School and a graduate of Wayne Community College with a degree in phlebotomy. She is employed as a phlebotomist at Penslow Medical Center in Surf City.
The groom is the son of Theodore and Debra Braddock of Murray, Ky., and the grandson of Theodore and Ruth Ann Braddock of Sturgis, Ky., and Shirley Billington and the late James Billington of Murray.
He is a 1999 graduate of Calloway County High School in Kentucky and a graduate of West Kentucky Technical College with a degree as a machinist.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
She wore a white wedding dress.
The bride carried a bouquet of red and white roses.
Elizabeth Pittman was her cousin’s maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Emily Pittman, cousin of bride, and Danielle Stanley and Nicole Perry, friends of the bride.
Cpl. Mike Decker was his friend’s best man.
Groomsmen were Cpl. Josh Ghen, Cpl. Pat Barnum and Cpl. Ed Flemming, friends of the groom, and Kyle Braddock, brother of the groom.
Brittney Kornegay, cousin of the bride, was the junior bridesmaid.
Hannah Kornegay, cousin of the bride, was flower girl. Jordan Kornegay, cousin of the bride, was ringbearer.
Vicki Kornegay, aunt of the bride, directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Jenny Norman, cousin of the bride. Marshall Butler, cousin of the bride, distributed programs.
Performing the sword ceremony were Cpl. Mike Decker, Sgt. Steve Geiger, Sgt. Ray Swaney, Sgt. Cory Weeks, Sgt. John Wiley, Cpl. Michael Beahon, Cpl. Jeremy Boener, Cpl. Zach Glenn, Cpl. Gregory Riegler, Cpl. Ken Robinson and Cpl. Drew Wilfawn.
A program of wedding music was provided by Doris Glenn, pianist, and Kathy Pittman, aunt of the bride, vocalist.
Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents hosted a dinner reception at the church’s Braswell Hall. A Marine Corps detail performed a sword ceremony for the couple.
The couple reside in North Topsail Beach.
Events held before the wedding included a miscellaneous shower Oct. 12 at Rosewood First Baptist Church fellowship hall hosted by Jerrie Stanley, friend of the bride; a Pampered Chef shower July 18 hosted by Jo Fitzmorris, friend of the bride; a bridesmaids’ luncheon May 8 at Hibachi Grill; an engagement dinner Feb. 16 at the home of Dr. Hervy Jr. and Vicki Kornegay, uncle and aunt of the bride, hosted by the Kornegays.
The groom’s parents hosted a barbecue dinner at the barn of Donald and Mildred Parnell, friends of the bride.
