Messer - Lies
LOS ANGELES, Calif. — Dorothy Hilliard “Hillary” Lies of Los Angeles and John Douglas Messer Jr. of Tallahassee and Panama City, Fla., exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Nov. 23 at 1 p.m. in a chapel in downtown Los Angeles.
The bride is the daughter of Stephen Craig Lies and Kathryn Hilliard Lies of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of William Lies III and Sally Farmer Lies of Dothan, Ala., and Charles Albert Hilliard and Dorothy Shepherd Hilliard of Durham.
She attended Duke University and Florida State University at Panama City.
The groom is the son of John Douglas Messer Sr. and Susan Gale Messer of Panama City and the grandson of the late Edgar and Myrtle Messer of Panama City and Mary Jane Doll and the late Roderick S. Doll of Panama City.
He attended Florida State University. He is employed as sales manager at Domani Motors Inc.
After a cross-country wedding trip driving from Los Angeles to Boca Raton, Fla., the couple resides in Boca Raton.
