GRANTHAM — Jennifer Fay Hood and Ronald Edward Waters Jr. exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Dec. 6. at 6 p.m. at Falling Creek Baptist Church, with the Rev. Billy Olsen officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Ronald and Donna Hood of Grantham and the granddaughter of Eddie and Mildred Sutton and the late Horace Cox of Calypso and the late Morris and Allene Hood of Grantham.

She is a 2001 honor graduate of Southern Wayne High School and a 2003 and 2005 Phi Theta Kappa graduate of Wayne Community College with an Associate in Applied Science in medical assisting and an Associate in Science Degree in nursing and is pursing a bachelor’s degree in nursing. She is employed as a registered nurse in the post anesthesia care unit at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

The groom is the son of Ronald and Paula Waters of Rosewood and the grandson of Virginia Perkins and the late W.J. Perkins, Edward and Marie Waters and the late Ellen Waters of Rosewood.

The groom is a 1996 graduate of Rosewood High School and a 2002 graduate of North Carolina State University with a bachelor’s degree in agriculture business management. He is employed with Waters Farms.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

She wore a strapless princess gown of ivory satin. The filled bodice was embellished with silver hand-pattern embroidery. It featured a full A-line skirt with silver starbursts accented with matching motif and a chapel-length train.

Her headpiece was a rhinestone broach accented with rhinestone chandelior earrings.

The bride carried a clutch bouquet of ivory roses, white tulips and white hydrangeas accented with green spider mums, green hypericum berries, star of Bethelems and variegated pittosporum.

Tasha Bollin of Grantham, was her friend’s matron of honor.

Bridesmaids were Ashley Edwards of Mount Olive and Elizabeth Lane of Greenville, cousins of the bride, and Megan Sinclair of Mount Olive, friend of the bride.

Ronald Waters was his son’s best man.

Groomsmen were Kelvin Norris of Princeton, friend of the groom, and Brad Waters of Rosewood and Lee Waters of Greenville, brothers of the groom.

Abigail Hood, cousin of the bride, was flower girl. Matthew Hood, cousin of the bride, was ringbearer.

Sue Hill directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Lesley Nunn, friend of the bride. Melissa Smith, friend of the bride, distributed programs.

A program of wedding music was provided by Samantha Casey, vocalist and violinist; Daniel Casey, vocalist and guitarist; and Leigh Ann Underhill, pianist.

Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents hosted a reception in the church fellowship hall.

After a wedding trip to Hawaii, the couple resides in Rosewood.

Events held before the wedding included a honeymoon shower Nov. 16. at the home of Connie Lane hosted by Ashley Edwards and Ms. Lane; a couple’s night Nov. 15 at the home of Brooke and Kelvin Norris hosted by the Norrises; a lawn and tool shower Nov. 13. at the home of Jennifer and Frankie Weeks hosted by Chris Merritt and Frankie Weeks; a church shower Nov. 9 at Falling Creek Baptist Church hosted by the Homemakers Sunday school class; a bridesmaids’ breakfast Nov. 8 at the Royal Tea Room hosted by Vickie Howell; a miscellaneous shower Nov. 6 at the home of Corine Holmes hosted by the recovery room staff; and a church shower Nov. 2 at Ebenezer United Methodist Church hosted by Donna Braswell and Mary Weeks.

The groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner Dec. 5 at Southern Exposure in Faison.
