Jessica Hope McCullen and Randall August Meisenhelder exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Dec. 20 at 3 p.m. at Saulston United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Rick Ward and the Rev. Scott Wilkinson officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Kenneth and Sheila McCullen of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of Pearl McCullen and the late Robert McCullen of Eureka and Marie Edwards Bailey and the late Roland Edwards of Stantonsburg.

She is a 2005 graduate of Eastern Wayne High School and a 2008 summa cum laude graduate of East Carolina University with a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing. She will be employed as a registered nurse at Pitt County Memorial Hospital.

The groom is the son of Steve and Ann Meisenhelder of Pikeville and the grandson of the late Randall and Mildred Stavens of Antigo, Wisc., and Howard and Edith Arenz of Glen Burnie, Md.

He is a 2005 graduate of Charles B. Aycock High School and attends East Carolina University for a degree in middle grades education.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

She wore a satin trumpet gown with beaded metallic lace, a satin empire band with bow and a lace-up back.

Her headpiece was an ivory two-tiered elbow-length veil with a metallic scalloped edge.

Karen Benton of Goldsboro was her friend’s maid of honor.

Bridesmaids were Deanna Kulesz of Charlotte, Morgan Parks of Mount Olive and Carrie Teachey of Chapel Hill, friends of the bride, and Ashley Winstead of Greenville, cousin of the bride.

Steve Meisenhelder was his son’s best man.

Groomsmen were Brian McCullen of Charlotte, brother of the bride; Josh Meisenhelder of Sanford and Matthew Meisenhelder of Wilson, brothers of the groom; and Scott Walker of Goldsboro, friend of the groom.

Pam Ginn directed the wedding. Brittanny Matthews, friend of the bride, distributed programs.

Special helpers were Donna Thompson, Debbie Rose, Terry Tharrington and Sharon Smith.

A program of wedding music was provided by Camille Frederick, pianist, and Luke McKeel, vocalist.

Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents hosted a reception in the church fellowship hall. Rhonda Price, Francine Winstead and Ann Edwards, aunts of the bride, served the wedding cake.

After a wedding trip to Charleston, S.C., the couple resides in Greenville.

Events held before the wedding included a Christmas shower Nov. 30 at the home of Terry Benton hosted by Terry and Karen Benton, Jill and Morgan Parks and Megan Matthews; a bachelor weekend Nov. 29 in Fayetteville hosted by the groomsmen; a bridal shower Nov. 2 at Saulston United Methodist Church hosted by friends of the family; a bridal shower Nov. 1 at St. Joseph United Methodist Church hosted by Ann Meisenhelder and the United Methodist Women’s Circle; a bridesmaids’ luncheon Oct. 25 at Gourmet Cafe in Swansboro hosted by the bride’s mother; and a bachelorette weekend and lingerie shower Oct. 24 through 26 in Emerald Isle hosted by bridesmaids and friends of the bride.

The groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at St. Joseph Church.The couple chose this time to present gifts to their attendants.
