WAIMANALO, Hawaii — Sandra Newman Bentley of Pikeville and Shane Allen Lindsey of Pikeville exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Aug. 25 at 2 p.m., with Kahu William Fuller officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Barbara Wolfert Newman of Goldsboro and the late Erman M. Newman Jr. of El Paso, Texas, and the granddaughter of the late Erman M. Newman Sr. and Mae A. Newman of El Paso and the late George R. and Catherine E. Wolfert of Harwich, Mass.

She is employed as an HRIS specialist at Novo Nordisk Pharmaceutical Industries Inc.

The groom is the son of Terry Lindsey of Pittsboro and Kathleen Lindsey of Selmer, Tenn., the stepson of Linda Lindsey and the grandson of the late Richard and Ewell Lindsey of Eastview, Tenn., and Beverly McCarter and the late John McCarter of Selmer.

He is the owner of Integrity Construction and Painting Inc.

The bride wore a strapless A-line gown of satin with a detailed side drape and an embroidered neckline.

Her headpiece was a silver tiara with a floral pattern of Swarovski crystal rhinestones. The one-tiered veil was fingertip-length with a pencil edge.

The bride carried a bouquet of white roses and daisies with wrapped stems held with antique handkerchief in memory of her paternal grandmother.

Karen Quinn of Santa Barbara, Calif., was her friend’s matron of honor.

Pamela Tom directed the wedding.

A program of Hawaiian wedding ukulele music was provided by Kelly Villaverde of Honolulu.

After a wedding trip to Oahu, Hawaii, the couple reside in Pikeville.

Events held before the wedding included a Southern living at home shower at the home of Genvieve Thompson hosted by Ms. Thompson; a luncheon at Morning Glory Inn in Clayton hosted by co-workers of the bride; and a wedding celebration at Roy’s in Hawaii Kai, Oahu.
