Martin - Gray

Mrs. Martin

WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH — Betty Lynn Gray of Snow Hill and Kevin Harold Martin of Snow Hill exchanged vows in a double-ring seaside ceremony Aug. 8 at sunset, officiated by the Rev. Penelope Morningstar.

The bride is the daughter of Edward T. Gray of Snow Hill and Phyllis B. Haught of Stanton, Calif., and the granddaughter of the late Aquilla and Fannie S. Gray of Snow Hill and Kirby Brinson of Benson.

She is a 1991 graduate of Greene Central High School. She is employed at Happy Jack Inc.

The groom is the son of Harold and Linda W. Martin of Princeton and the grandson of the late Emmitt and Sallie Martin and Lesley and Clarissa Worley of Princeton.

He is a 1991 graduate of Wayne Christian. He is employed with Neuse Correctional Institution.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her family.

She wore a V-neck halter mermaid-style gown with an ivory lace sheath and cascading embroidery on net overlaying. The all-over beaded lace was adorned with flowers and rhinestones. Beaded lace appliqués were scattered throughout the gown. Floral lace adorned the bodice and branched out asymmetrically on the skirt and train. A deep back neckline met beaded buttons that led the lace appliqué overlay to fall into a semi-cathedral-length train.

Her headpiece was a double ivory gardenia with matching pearl pins.

The bride carried a hand–tied bouquet of ivory roses, ivory rosebuds, pearl stephanotis and lavender hydrangeas accented with ivory satin ribbons.

Kathy Shirley of Snow Hill was maid of honor.

Harold Martin was his son’s best man.

Seashell girl was Miss Ashley Sauls of Snow Hill.

Program and Scroll attendants were Brenda Bell of Snow Hill and Jessica Cooper of Maiden.

Kevin Sauls, Austin Sauls and John Sauls of Snow Hill were ceremony coordinators.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Oceanic Restaurant in Wrightsville Beach.

After a wedding trip to Wrightsville, Carolina and Kure beaches, the couple reside in Snow Hill.
