Adrienne Paul Parker and Benjamin Charles Strickland Jr. exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony June 28 at 6:30 p.m. at Saint Paul United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Homer Morris and the Rev. Frederick Clarke officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Margo Paul Parker and the late Graydon Jerome “Jerry” Parker Jr. of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of the late Graydon Parker, the late Claude Cleveland Paul Jr. and Margie Adams Paul of Goldsboro and Mary Spain of Richmond, Va.

She is a graduate of Wayne Country Day School, the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and East Carolina University in 2006 with an MBA. She is employed as the family services and volunteer coordinator at Habitat for Humanity.

The groom is the son of Benjamin Charles Strickland Sr. and Diane Butts Strickland of Goldsboro, the grandson of the late Robie and Alma Strickland of Goldsboro and Donnie Morris and Ann Gray Butts of LaGrange and the great-grandson of Gladys Gray of Goldsboro.

He is employed as a funeral director at Seymour Funeral Home.

The bride was escorted by her brother, Grayson Adams Parker, and given in marriage by her mother.

She wore a strapless sweetheart neckline gown in light natural silk. The bodice was gathered and the ruched design flowed in to the modified A-line skirt.

Her headpiece was a double-layer pencil-edged veil with fingertip- and cathedral-length layers.

The bride carried a hand-tied bouquet of pink and white peonies.

Stephanie Paul Ross was matron of honor, while Morgan Elizabeth Ross was maid of honor.

Bridesmaids were Natalie Adams Paul, Kelly Hagwood Johnson, Jamie Ellen Pike, Susan Dunlap Stackhouse and Carlin Kannan Hall.

Benjamin Strickland Sr. was best man.

Groomsmen were Cameron Gray Strickland, Grayson Adams Parker, Donnie Morris Butts Jr., Steven Charles Ross, Samuel Charles Ross, Lewis Bennett Best and Michael Tyler Pate.

Alma Strickland was flower girl. Adam Ross was ringbearer.

Honorary bridesmaids were Pamela Strickland Jessup and Stacie Noelle Strickland.

Shelia Warrick directed the wedding.

John Strickland III carried the tintinnabulum.

Wedding children were Katie Strickland, Emma Strickland, Kaylee Jones, Hunter Jones, Luke Jessup, Delaney Jessup, Keely Parker and Emerson Paul.

A program of wedding music was provided by Best Grove Missionary Baptist Church Sanctuary Choir and Dr. Benjamin Johnson, organist.

Following the ceremony, a reception and dance were held at the Strickland home.

After a wedding trip to Walt Disney World, Fla., the couple reside in Goldsboro.

Events held before the wedding included a bridesmaid brunch June 27 at the home of Evelyn Paul hosted by Mrs. Paul; a bachelor weekend June 6 through 8 in Atlantic Beach hosted by the groomsmen; a bachelorette weekend May 30 through June 1 in Atlantic Beach hosted by the bridesmaids; a shower June 5 hosted by Seymour Funeral Home; a shower June 1 hosted by ladies of First Christian Church; a summer cookout May 24 at the summer beach house of Steve and Stephanie Ross; a wedding fiesta April 25 at the home of John and Peggy Strickland hosted by the Stricklands, John and Sherry Strickland and Marc and Nicole Strickland; a shower April 13 at Walnut Creek Church hosted by the groom’s family; and an engagement dance Feb. 2 at the Brick Village hosted by friends and family.

A rehearsal dinner was held June 27 at Goldsboro Country Club.
