Montague - Fortner
Rebecca Ann Fortner and Joseph Ivey Montague exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Jan. 5 at 5 p.m. at Lanetree Country Club, with Pastor Don Sauls officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Donald Fortner and Sherri Fortner of Pikeville and the granddaughter of Anna Nasekos of Goldsboro and Joe and June O’Mary of Seymour, Tenn.
She is a 2003 graduate of Charles B. Aycock High School and attends Mount Olive College. She is employed as a management trainee at Enterprise Rent-A-Car.
The groom is the son of Barry and Karen Montague of Goldsboro and the grandson of the late Irvin and Jane Montague of Goldsboro, Linwood Price of Seven Springs and Geraldine Price of Mount Olive.
He is a 2001 graduate of Eastern Wayne High School. He is serving in the Army National Guard as a technician.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
She wore a strapless gown with a beaded sweetheart neckline and taffeta pickup skirt with a chapel train.
Her headpiece was single-tiered illusion with pearl beads attached to a tiara embellished with diamond affects.
The bride carried a clutch bouquet of white roses with baby’s breath and stephanotis finished with silk silver ribbon and diamond studs.
Lindsay Pierce was matron of honor, while Elizabeth Fortner was maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Ashley Pendergraft, Dana Sauls and Tessie Simpson.
Nick Montague was best man.
Groomsmen were Matt Clark, Jake Hinkofer, Will Simonsen and Brad Simpson.
Lillian Simpson was flower girl. Cody Simpson was ringbearer.
Donna Edmundson and Wanda Fortner directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Eve Bridges.
A program of wedding music was provided by Rick Thornton, DJ.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Lane Tree Country Club.
The couple reside in Goldsboro.
Events held before the wedding included a bridal shower Oct. 27 at the home of the bride’s parents hosted by Elizabeth Fortner and Lindsay Pierce.
A rehearsal dinner was held at the home of Donna and Jimmie Edmundson of Goldsboro.
