PIKEVILLE — Nancy Deans Capps and Thomas Glen Flowers exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Sept. 8 at 2 p.m. at Pike’s Crossroads Pentecostal Holiness Church, with the Rev. Merrill Davis officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold T. Deans of Kenly and the granddaughter of Myretta Renfrow of Kenly.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas L. Flowers of Pikeville and the grandson of the late Lorraine Britt Earnest of Goldsboro and Mary Lee Allen of Pikeville.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her daughters, Tonya and Brittany Capps.

She wore a formal gown of Italian satin and Alencon lace.

The sleeveless fitted drop waist bodice was embellished with pearls and sequins and had a V-neckline.

The floor-length A-line satin skirt and chapel-length train were accented with double bands of satin bordered in scalloped beaded Alencon lace.

Her headpiece was a rhinestone and pearl tiara attached to a single-tiered veil of silk illusion embroidered with sequins and pearls along the scalloped edges.

The bride carried a cascading bouquet of red and white roses, baby’s breath and ivy.

Joy Deans Leggett was her sister’s matron of honor.

Bridesmaids were Tonya L. Capps, daughter of the bride, and Tammy P. Hooks and Nikki Edwards, friends of the bride.

Thomas L. Flowers was his son’s best man.

Groomsmen were Thomas Thompson, Brandon Lane and Gray Wiley, friends of the groom.

Brittany D. Capps, daughter of the bride, was flower girl.

Pam Aycock directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Tonya L. Capps. Brandon Lane distributed programs.

A program of wedding music was provided by Anne E. Gurley, pianist; Angie Mozingo and Jamie Gurley, vocalists; and Tim Wells, sound technician.

Following the ceremony, family and friends held a reception in the church family life center.

After a wedding trip to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, Tenn., the couple reside in Kenly.

Events held before the wedding included a surprise bridal celebration Sept. 5 hosted by co-workers of the bride; a couple’s night out Aug. 25 hosted by Gary and Joy Leggett; and a miscellaneous bridal shower Aug. 3 hosted by aunts and cousins of the groom.

The groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner Sept. 7.
