Ellis - Ruthven
MURRELLS INLET, S.C. — Alexandra Hart Ruthven of Columbia, S.C., and Carson Shane Ellis exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Oct. 13 at 4 p.m. at Brookgreen Gardens, with the Rev. Michael Gordon Crocker officiating.
The bride is the daughter of William Martin Ruthven of Jasper, Ala., and Tanya Kuehner Sisk of Lexington, S.C., and the granddaughter of the late William Carrigan and Eleanor Coker Ruthven and the late Dr. Kenneth George and Mildred Bobbitt Kuehner of Hartsville, S.C.
She is a graduate of the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology and a Bachelor of Science degree in criminal justice.
The groom is the son of Larry Gordon Ellis and the late Karen Wiggs Ellis of Princeton and the grandson of the late John Brantley and Virginia Earp Ellis of Goldsboro, Edward Lee Wiggs of Fremont and the late Betsy Glover Wiggs of Princeton.
He attended East Carolina University. He is employed as a manager at Reliable Van and Storage.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
Hannah Caitlin Ruthven was her sister’s maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Stefanie Leigh Carpenter, Jennifer Black Strom, Kristi Renee Carpenter and Katherine Amanda Potts, friends of the bride.
Larry Gordon Ellis was his son’s best man.
Groomsmen were Joseph Weldon Franklin III and Joseph Edward Bailey Jr., friends of the groom, and Alexander Wyeth Ruthven and Andrew Caleb Ruthven, brothers of the bride.
A program of wedding music was provided by Becky Nissen, harpist.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Holliday Cottage at Brookgreen Gardens.
After a wedding cruise to the eastern Caribbean, the couple reside in Goldsboro.
