SMITHFIELD — Emily June Ward and James Britton Ashcraft of Raleigh exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Oct. 6 at 4 p.m. at First Baptist Church, with the Rev. Lee Colbert and the Rev. Bryan Harris officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael N. Ward of Clayton and the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Millard N. Ward of Lincolnton and Mr. and Mrs. John A. Narron Sr. of Goldsboro.

She graduated magna cum laude from North Carolina State University in 2006 with a degree in psychology and attends Campbell University for a Master of Divinity degree.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. David B. Ashcraft and Mr. and Mrs. William H. Drummond of High Point and the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Donald B. Ashcraft of South Charleston, W.Va., and Elizabeth Cunningham and the late Newlin B. Cunningham of Charleston.

He graduated valedictorian and summa cum laude from North Carolina State University in 2006 with degrees in computer and electrical engineering and attends North Carolina State University for a Master of Computer Engineering degree.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

Amanda Ward was maid of honor.

Bridesmaids were Jessica Ward, Jennifer Narron-Hardy, Callie Narron, Caitlyn Narron Weeks, Clare Narron and Cara Narron.

Michael Morgensen was best man.

Groomsmen were Bill Ashcraft, Rob Ashcraft, Austin Ward, Patrick Keistler and Daniel Ward.

Gayle Bizzle directed the wedding. Presiding at the register were Holden Royall, Julia Royall and Jane Royall.

A program of wedding music was provided by Kelley Garris, organist.

Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents held a reception in the church fellowship hall.

After a wedding trip to Palm Beach, Fla., the couple reside in Raleigh.

The groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner at the Wagner House in Clayton.
