EMERALD ISLE — Roxie Carisma Kemmerlin and Jimmy Lewis Adams Jr. of Goldsboro exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Oct. 6 at 5 p.m. at The Boat House, with Donald Fader officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Wayne Kemmerlin of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. McCoy Kemmerlin of Orangeburg, S.C., and Mr. and Mrs. Cruz Sanchez of Eagle Pass, Texas.

She is a graduate of Southern Wayne High School and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a bachelor’s degree in biology. She is employed as a territory sales manager at Oscient Pharmaceuticals.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Lewis Adams of Mount Olive and the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Adams of Seven Springs and Mr. and Mrs. Mossett Flowers of Mount Olive.

He graduated from Southern Wayne High School and East Carolina University with a bachelor’s degree in recreation and leisure studies. He was a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity. He is employed as an installation director at Eastern Installed Services.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

She wore an ivory silk A-line gown with a deep V-neckline accented with crystal bead and sequins.

Her headpiece was an ivory single-layer fingertip veil with crystal beading around the bottom.

The bride carried a bouquet of calla lilies and white roses wrapped in an off-white satin ribbon.

Carla Westbrook Stafford of Goldsboro was matron of honor.

Bridesmaids were Kristina Kelley Joyner of Mount Olive, Candace Smith Hughes of Raleigh, Maranda Kyrstal Johns of Asheville and Kelli Sanford Anderson of Orangeburg.

Jimmy Lewis Adams was his son’s best man.

Groomsmen were Thomas Head of Boca Raton, Fla., Cuyler VonWald of Chapel Hill, Hayden VonWald of Wilmington and Brandon Hood of Raleigh.

Addilee English Turnage of Mount Olive was the junior bridesmaid.

Meredith Lasater Shivar, Julie Hinson Faucette and Dr. Amy VanVoltenburg Harper were honorary bridesmaids.

Logan Elizabeth Anderson of Orangeburg was flower girl. Hatcher McCoy Kemmerlin of Atlanta, Ga., was ringbearer.

Mandy Moreale directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Cassie Evans Williamson. Kyler Reed and Hunter Anderson distributed programs.

Brooke Albertson and Mallory Albertson greeted guests.

Gregory Lee Meacham was Scripture reader.

A program of wedding music was provided by Paige Vickory Barwick, violinist.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at The Boat House.

After a wedding trip to Tortola, British Virgin Islands, the couple reside in Goldsboro.

Events held before the wedding included a wedding day brunch Oct. 6 at Bon Ami hosted by Alice and Jay Baker and Estelle and Johnnie Baker; a bridesmaids’ luncheon Oct. 5 at Rucker Johns of Emerald Isle hosted by the bride and her mother; a dinner party Aug. 25 at the home Jane Jeffreys hosted by Ms. Jeffreys, Lee Meacham and Hope and Adam Montague; a girls’ weekend Aug. 10 through 12 in Emerald Isle hosted by the bridesmaids; a bridal shower brunch Aug. 4 at Murphy’s Place hosted by Julie Faucette, Dr. Amy Harper, Christy Shivar, Meredith Shivar and Cassie Williamson; an engagement party June 2 at Murphy’s Place hosted by friends and family.

The groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner Oct. 5 at Champagne Bay in Emerald Isle.
