Amanda R. Thornton and Craig L. Ladd of Newton Grove exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Aug. 4 at 4 p.m. at Now Faith Church, with Pastor Jeff Toler officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Bobby Lamont and Teresa Kay Thornton of Newton Grove and the granddaughter of Virginia Thornton and the late Bob Thornton of Mount Olive and Ray and Janet Langston of Four Oaks.

She graduated from Hobbton High School in 2004 and attends Wayne Community College. She is employed as a data entry personnel at Hog Slat Inc.

The groom is the son of Charlie J. and Pam C. Ladd of Goldsboro and the grandson of John and Caroline Ladd of St. Augustine, Fla.

He graduated from Rosewood High School in 2003 and Wayne Community in 2006 and 2007. He will attend Mount Olive College. He is employed as a maintenance electrician at Cooper Standard Automotive.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

Tammy Strickland directed the wedding.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Ryan’s Steakhouse.

After a wedding cruise to the Bahamas, the couple reside in Newton Grove.

Events held before the wedding included a bridal shower at Westbrook Church hosted by family and friends and a wedding shower at Now Faith Church hosted by their church family.
