MOUNT OLIVE — Sarah Renee Sutton of Mount Olive and Matthew Franklin Brown of Mount Olive exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Aug. 11 at 3 p.m. at Thunderswamp Pentecostal Holiness Church, with the Rev. Steve Dixon officiating.

The bride is the daughter of James Shelton Sutton of Grantham and Cindy Perry Creech of Faison and the stepdaughter of James Warren Creech of Faison.

She is a 2005 graduate of Southern Wayne High School and attends Wayne Community College’s medical assisting program. She is employed with Goldsboro Drug.

The groom is the son of Steven Franklin and Tammie Lee Hill Brown of Goldsboro and the grandson of Frank and Lib Brown of Albertson and Harold and Judy Hill of Goldsboro.

He graduated from Southern Wayne High School in 2000 and Wayne Community College’s basic law enforcement training as valedictorian. He is employed as an electrician with Hill Electric.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

She wore a white strapless A-line gown with an organza overlay embellished with silver embroidery throughout. It had a dropped waistline that flowed into a semi-cathedral-length train.

Maria Pennington was her friend’s matron of honor.

Bridesmaids were Leighanna Grady and Crystal Faircloth, friends of the bride; Dawn Hill, cousin of the groom; Amy Sutton, sister-in-law of the bride; and Brittany Creech, stepsister of the bride.

Steve Brown was his son’s best man.

Ushers were Scottie Brown, brother of the groom; Jeff Hill, uncle of the groom; and Nick Sutton, Justin Sutton and Stephen Anderson, brothers of the bride.

Karinne Anderson, niece of the bride, was flower girl. Seth Anderson, nephew of the bride, was ringbearer.

Destiny Creech, niece of the bride, was the miniature bride. Jimmy Grice, friend of the couple, was the miniature groom.

Jennifer Britt directed the wedding. Presiding at the register and distributing programs were Brian and Michelle Hope.

A program of wedding music was provided by Betsy Register, pianist, and Jimmy Martin, vocalist.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the church fellowship hall.

After a wedding trip to the mountains, the couple reside in Grantham.

Events held before the wedding included a bachelor party Aug. 3 in Wilmington; a bachelorette party Aug. 3 in Fayetteville; a bridal shower Aug. 1 hosted by classmates of the bride; a lingerie shower July 28 hosted by Maria Pennington; a bridal shower July 9 hosted by the groom’s family; and a bridal shower June 8 hosted by the bride’s mother.

The groom’s family held a rehearsal dinner Aug. 10 at the home of the groom.
