Thornton - Noulles
Reba Barefoot Noulles of Wilson and Nelson Ray Thornton of Princeton exchanged vows July 7 at 4 p.m. at Grace Baptist Church, with the Rev. Tony Rivers officiating.
The bride is the daughter of the late Rossie and Mabel Lee Barefoot of Dunn.
She is retired from the Wilson County School System. She is employed as a teacher at Elm City Middle School.
The groom is the son of the late James Foster Thornton and Ioda Anderson Thornton of Goldsboro.
He is a retired pipe construction superintendent.
The bride was escorted by her brother, Granville Burns Barefoot of San Jose, Calif., and led to the altar by her grandchildren, Connor Joseph and Emory Grace Vestal of Greensboro.
Attendants were the couple’s children and grandchildren, Mr. and Mrs. John Curtis Vestal, Emory Grace and Connor Joseph of Greensboro and Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Ray Thornton Jr., Trevor Foster and Jacob Clark of Holly Springs.
Ushers were James Edsel Barefoot of Bedford, Va., brother of the bride, and James William Thornton of Goldsboro, brother of the groom.
Dianne Raper directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Patricia Osborne.
A program of wedding music was provided by Bobby Bennett of Red Oak, organist, and Holly Stallings Lewis of Wilson, vocalist.
Following the ceremony, the couple held a pig picking reception at the home of the bride.
After a wedding trip to Gatlinburg, Tenn., the couple reside in Wilson.
