Christine Danielle Benton and Stephen James Hunter of Goldsboro exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony July 7 at 4:30 p.m. at Saint Paul United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Thurman Horney officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Dale and Carolyn M. Benton of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of the late Charles Benton and Evelyn C. Garrett of Moyock and Leland and Alpean H. Midgett of Hertford.

She graduated from Cooper High School in Abilene, Texas, and attends East Carolina University for a bachelor’s degree in theater education.

The groom is the son of Michael H. Hunter of Murray, Utah, and Tana W. Hunter of Rexburg, Idaho, and the grandson of the late Milton R. and Fern Hunter and Oscar and Louise Walch.

He graduated from Jordan High School in Sandy, Utah. He is employed as an associate manager at Landmark Galleries of Carey.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

She wore a formal gown of white satin embroidered and adorned with white pearls with a long train.

Her headpiece was a two-tiered cathedral length veil.

The bride carried a cascading bouquet of white roses and various white lilies with greenery in a satin holder.

Tiffany C. Rodriguez was matron of honor.

Chris Thames was best man.

Ushers were Christopher Benton and Jay Rodriguez.

Autumn Benton, Leah Rodriguez and Emily Rodriguez, were flower girls.

Shelia Warrick directed the wedding. Presiding at the register and distributing programs was Helen Harris.

A program of wedding music was provided by Jean Clay, organist.

Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents held a reception at Sarah’s Garden.

After a wedding trip to the Wasatch Mountains in Utah, the couple reside in Goldsboro.

Events held before the wedding included a bridal shower June 16 at the Outer Banks hosted by Tiffany Rodriguez, sister of the bride, and Alpean Midgett, grandmother of the bride.

The bride’s parents held a rehearsal dinner July 6 at their home.
