Bacik-Armstrong
RALEIGH — Sarah Eleanor Armstrong and Josef Michael Bacik of Raleigh exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony July 7 at 2 p.m. at Avent Ferry United Methodist Church, with the Rev. David E. Hollowell and the Rev. Taylor W. Mills officiating.
The bride is the daughter of the Rev. and Mrs. R. Martin Armstrong III of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of Dr. and Mrs. David Jack Gold of Bland, Va., and Ralph M. Armstrong Jr. and the late Sarah Lee O’Daniel Armstrong of Asheville.
She is a graduate of Charles B. Aycock High School and attends North Carolina State University for a major in microbiology and a minor in genetics. She is employed at North Carolina University as a technician in the genetics lab.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. James A. Bacik Jr. of Garner and the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Meeks of Bolivar, Mo., and Lucy Johnson of Cyprus.
He is a graduate of Garner High School and attends North Carolina State University for a major in computer science. He is employed at Red Hat Inc. as a support software engineer.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
She wore a Renaissance-style white wedding gown with a beaded bridal satin bodice and a three-tiered skirt of beaded fine grade netting and satin-back crepe.
The bride carried a bouquet of white orchids, roses and lilies.
Crystal Shoemaker of Raleigh was maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Sarah Wise of Fremont and Allison Durham of Sanford.
Mark Frazier of Greenville was best man.
Groomsmen were Patrick Connelly of Raleigh and Stephen Whiter of Garner, brother of the groom.
Ushers were Andrew Armstrong of Raleigh, brother of the bride, and Rebecca Whiter of Boone and Sarah Whiter and Elisabeth Whiter of Garner, sisters of the groom.
Presiding at the register was Leisha Collins of Raleigh. Justin Thigpen of Raleigh distributed programs.
A program of wedding music was provided by Jay D. Locklear of Sanford, pianist.
Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents held a reception at the church fellowship hall.
After a wedding trip to Dublin, Ireland, the couple reside in Raleigh.
The groom’s parents held a dinner party after the reception.
