Erica Michelle Johnson and Brian David Struyk of Grand Rapids, Mich., exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony June 1 at 6 p.m. at St. Paul United Methodist Church, with Mike Moss officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Mark and Anne Marie Johnson of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of the late Raymond and Oriet Johnson of Jewell, Iowa, and Elizabeth Schmidt and the late Walter Schmidt of Guelph, Ontario, Canada.

She graduated from Eastern Wayne High School in 2004 and cum laude from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2007 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English literature.

The groom is the son of Robert Struyk of Grand Rapids and Judi Warner of Wyoming, Mich., the stepson of Rick Warner and Connie Struyk and the grandson of Robert and Annie Struyk of Grand Rapids and Carolyn Hagedorn and the late Garret Hagedorn of Rosman.

He graduated from Christian High School in 2001 and cum laude from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science degree in professional aeronautics. He is training to be a pilot in the Air Force.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

She wore a strapless tulle sheath gown with a shirred bodice, beaded lace appliqués and a chapel train.

Her headpiece was a teardrop veil with a scalloped and beaded edge.

The bride carried a hand-tied bouquet of yellow miniature calla lilies.

Nicole Stallard of Goldsboro was her friend’s maid of honor.

Bridesmaids were Jessica Pate, April Vinson and Jeannie Lee of Goldsboro, Emily Kresge of Lynchburg, Va., and Mallory Lake of Apex.

Kevin Struyk was his brother’s best man.

Groomsmen were Michael Struyk, Ada, Mich., brother of the groom; Sean Smith of Kalamazoo, Mich.; Matthew McDowell of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Wesley Johnson of Goldsboro, brother of the bride; and Justin Balch of Goldsboro.

Shelia Warrick directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Laura Mitchell. Jeff and Allison Kearns distributed programs.

A program of wedding music was provided by Mark Gourley, pianist and organist, and Mallory Lake and Bethany Lake, vocalists.

Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents held a reception at Lane Tree Country Club.

After a wedding trip to the Bahamas, Grand Cayman and Costa Maya, the bride resides in Goldsboro and the groom resides at Maxwell Air Force Base, Montgomery, Ala.

Events held before the wedding included a bachelorette party May 29th; a lingerie shower May 29 at the home of Jay and Cindy Stallard hosted by the bridesmaids; a bridesmaids’ brunch May 28 at the home of the bride’s parents; a gift card shower in May hosted by Judi Warner; a miscellaneous shower May 20 at the home of Mark and Donna Todd hosted by Cindy Stallard, Donna Todd and Anne Marie Johnson.

The groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner at the Koi Asian Bistro.
