Jamie Lynn Brill and Joshua Gordon Smith exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony June 30 at 4 p.m. at Pine Forest United Methodist Church, with Billy Olsen and Walter Brill Jr. officiating.

The bride is the daughter of James Dalton and Phyllis Crawford Brill of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of Walter Brill Jr. and the late Mary Elizabeth Deans Brill of Goldsboro and the late Ivey Edgar Crawford and Mary Crawford Howell of Pikeville.

She graduated from Charles B. Aycock High School in 1998 and the University of North Carolina at Wilmington in 2003 with a degree in history and education. She is a member of Alpha Xi Delta Sorority. She is employed as a teacher with Wayne County Public Schools.

The groom is the son of Steven Allen and JoAnn Twyman Smith of Goldsboro and the grandson of Norman and Shirley Smith of Goldsboro and Mildred Tallman and the late Joseph Gordon Twyman of Jacksonville.

He graduated from Rosewood High School in 2000 and Guilford College in 2004 with a degree in secondary math education. He is employed as a teacher with Wayne County Public Schools.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

She wore a formal gown of white chiffon over satin with a strapless sweetheart neckline. The center of the bodice, the satin organza A-line skirt and the chapel-length train were decorated with a beaded floral lace.

Her headpiece was a band of freshwater pearls, crystals and rhinestones.

The bride carried a bouquet of Gerber daisies.

Amber Barnes of New Bern and Summer Davis of Goldsboro were maids of honor.

Bridesmaids were Erica Bean of Greensboro, Emily Boles and Caroline Green of Raleigh, Elizabeth Brill and Logan Brill of Lumberton and Kristan Mynhier of Goldsboro.

Steve Smith of Goldsboro and Quintin Williams of Winston-Salem were best men.

Groomsmen were Kyle Becher of Pin Hook, Phillip Brill, Troy Smith and David Younts of Goldsboro, Payson Davis of Greensboro and Jeremey Smith of Raleigh.

Elizabeth Harts was flower girl. Logan Mitchell was ringbearer.

Beth Carr directed the wedding. Presiding at the register were Robby Phillips and Jerri-Rae Pearson. Jason and Anna King distributed programs.

A program of wedding music was provided by Timothy Price, pianist; Jessica Ando, vocalist; and Timothy Price, organist.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Lane Tree Country Club. Daniel and Laurie Barrow and Michael and Beth Brill greeted guests. Annabelle Clifton and Betty Reeves served the wedding cake.

After a wedding trip to the Dominican Republic, the couple reside in Goldsboro.

Events held before the wedding included a bridal breakfast June 29 at B & G Grill at which time the bride chose to present gifts to her attendants; a bachelor party June 22 in Greensboro; a bachelorette party and lingerie shower June 15 through 17 in Myrtle Beach, S.C.; a miscellaneous shower June 10 hosted by the Dorcus Circle of Pine Forest United Methodist Church; a miscellaneous shower June 8 hosted by the faculty and staff of Goldsboro Intermediate; a dinner and miscellaneous shower June 6 at Bistro 54/54 hosted by GGC; a gift card shower May 19 hosted by the bridesmaids; a a shower May 5 at Fremont Free Will Baptist Church hosted by the bride’s family; a garden and tool shower April 26 hosted by Rosewood High School faculty and staff; and a miscellaneous shower March 27 hosted by the Rosewood High School baseball team.

A rehearsal dinner was held at the home of the bride’s parents.
