DUDLEY — Melissa Ann Mitchell and Stephen Rhodes Hawley exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony June 23 at 1 p.m. at Emmaus Baptist Church, with the Rev. Johnny Sasser officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Louvenia Mitchell of Dudley and the late Chester Mitchell and the granddaughter of Effie Mitchell of Dudley.

She is a graduate of Southern Wayne High School. She is employed as a purchasing agent with Ex-cell Home Fashions.

The groom is the son of the late William and Amy Hawley.

He is a graduate of Cape Fear High School. He is employed as chief engineer at U.S. Cold Storage of Warsaw.

The bride was given in marriage and escorted by her sons, Trey Massengill and Cody Nassef.

She wore an ivory silk halter gown with a beaded bodice. The A-line skirt was adorned with beaded pickups.

Her headpiece was a jeweled tiara.

The bride carried a bouquet of ivory roses, blue lilies, pink roses and yellow daisies.

Tracy Millard was matron of honor.

Bridesmaids were Michelle Mitchell and Karen Mitchell.

Ken Hawley was best man.

Groomsmen were Steve Hawley Jr. and Jason Hawley.

Kelsey Millard, Emma Mitchell and Lauren Mitchell were flower girls.

Brendan Hawley was ringbearer.

Kaylee Hawley was the miniature bride.

Nora Sasser directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Kim Saylor. Cody Nassef distributed programs.

A program of wedding music was provided by Gary Millard, pianist, and Ruby Sutton, vocalist.

Following the ceremony, Shonda Outlaw held a reception in the church fellowship hall. Deana Johnson poured punch. Shelby Mitchell served the wedding cake.

After a wedding trip to Florida, the couple reside in Mount Olive.

Events held before the wedding included a bridal shower at the home of the bride hosted by Tracy Millard, Michelle Mitchell, Karen Mitchell and Kim Saylor.

A rehearsal dinner was held June 22 at Emmaus Church fellowship hall.
