MANHATTAN BEACH, Calif. — Jessica Erin Sloan and Alexander O’Bannon exchanged vows April 21 at American Martyrs Catholic Church, with Monsignor John Barry officiating.

The bride is the daughter of David F. “Stoney” and Christine A. Sloan of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of Miriam S. Sloan and the late John F. Sloan of Warwick, R.I., and John L. and Eulalia M. Zilly of Narragansett, R.I.

She graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a Bachelor of Science degree in operations research mathematics and The College of William and Mary with a master’s degree in computational operations research. She is employed as a systems engineer at Northrop Grumman Corporation in El Segundo, Calif.

The groom is the son of Timothy C. and Mary M. O’Bannon of San Antonio, Texas, and the grandson of Regina C. O’Bannon, the late Daniel E. O’Bannon, Bebe Krapcha and the late Edward L. Krapcha of Albuquerque, N.M.

He is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame with a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering and Pepperdine University with a Master of Business Administration degree. He is employed as a systems engineer at Lockheed Martin Corporation in Palmdale, Calif.

The bride wore a traditional strapless gown with a beaded lace overlay and a slight sweetheart neckline with an A-line silhouette. The hemline was scallop-edged with a chapel-length train.

She carried a bouquet of white roses and lilies of the valley hand-tied and wrapped with the pale blue sash of her mother’s wedding gown. Attached to the bouquet was a lace cutting from her maternal grandmother’s wedding veil in a crystal locket.

She also carried a prayer book from Lourdes, France, owned by the groom’s maternal grandmother and carried by several women of the Krapcha family during their weddings.

Michelle Adams, Meghan Neumann and Sara Skurky were maids of honor.

Bridesmaids were Heather Blair, Jen Evans, Sara Fournier, Kathy Fosha, Tracey Jordan, Renee Kuhnert, Stacy Rallo, Ellen Vermillion and Kelley Worden.

Daniel O’Bannon was best man.

Groomsmen were David Bowers, Joe Bowers, Jack Connor, David Helterline, William Hennessey, John Khym, Josh Knippa, Adam Laubacker, Rick Silvestrini, Robert Stultz and Alex Valle.

Craig Krapcha was the junior groomsman.

Madison and Emma Hagee were flower girls.

A program of traditional Irish music was provided by Jack Connor and Brian McGilly, friends of the couple, and Bill Svarda, pianist.

A reception was held at Los Verdes Country Club in Palos Verdes, Calif.

After a wedding trip to the Tuscany region of Italy, the couple reside in Hermosa Beach, Calif.

Events held before the wedding included a bridesmaids’ brunch April 20 hosted by the bride’s mother; a bachelor party at Lake Tahoe, Calif.; a bachelorette party in the wine country of Solvang, Calif.; and bridal showers in San Diego, Calif., and Narragansett.

The groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner at the Chart House Restaurant in Redondo Beach, Calif.
