Wendy Renea Mozingo and Christopher Robert Neal of Goldsboro exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony April 28 at 3 p.m. at Belfast Pentecostal Holiness Church, with the Rev. Steve Jones officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Linwood and Sandra Mozingo of Pikeville and the granddaughter of Catherine Sykes, the late David Sykes and the late Bruce and Geneva Mozingo of Pikeville.

She is a graduate of Charles B. Aycock High School and East Carolina University. She is employed as a teacher with Wayne County Public Schools.

The groom is the son of Robert Neal of Bargetown, Ky., and the grandson of Marianna Neal and the late Joseph Neal of Goldsboro.

He graduated from Rosewood High School and Wayne Community College with a degree in ag-business. He is owner and operator of Clean Sweep Lawn Care and Landscapes.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

She wore a white formal strapless gown with a corset bodice and organza skirt embellished with metallic lace appliqués, pearls and crystals. The A-line skirt flowed into a chapel train.

Her headpiece was a two-tiered veil with satin edging attached to a silver tiara with pearl and crystal accents.

The bride carried a hand-wrapped bouquet of pink roses, miniature white calla lilies and belles of Ireland accented with purple berries.

Cindy McPhail was her sister’s matron of honor.

Bridesmaids were Becky Mozingo, sister-in-law of the bride, and Tracy Hales and Amanda Cummings, cousins of the bride.

Greg Neal was his cousin’s best man.

Groomsmen were Jamie Mozingo, brother-in-law of the groom, and Jamie Bedford and Junior Merritt, friends of the groom.

Hayley McPhail, niece of the bride, was flower girl. Hayden Neal, son of the groom, was ringbearer.

Judy Howell and Bonnie Parks directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Vicki Quinn. Austin and Josh Mozingo, nephews of the bride, distributed programs.

A program of wedding music was provided by Patsy Gardner, pianist, and Penny Withrow, vocalist.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the church fellowship hall. Jerry and Becky Mozingo greeted guests. Phyllis Bass and Amanda Capps served the wedding cake.

After a wedding cruise to the eastern Caribbean, the couple reside in Goldsboro.

Events held before the wedding included a bridesmaids’ luncheon April 21 at Teas Steakhouse hosted by friends during which time the bride presented gifts to her attendants; a girl’s spa day April 14 hosted by the wedding party; a lingerie shower March 24 at the home of Cindy McPhail hosted by family; a shower March 20 hosted by staff of Eastern Wayne Elementary School; and a shower March 11 at Belfast Pentecostal Holiness Church hosted by friends and family.

A rehearsal dinner was held April 27 at Belfast Church. The groom chose this time to present gifts to his attendants.
