Amber Nicole Howell and Alfred Gordon White III exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony April 14 at 3 p.m. at Free Gospel Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church, with the Rev. Willard Hardison officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Roger and Gwen Howell of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of Marion Howell and the late Elizabeth Howell of Wilson and the late Lee and Ruby Daniels of Goldsboro.

She is a 2002 graduate of Eastern Wayne High School and 2006 graduate of Wayne Community College with an AAS degree in nursing. She is employed as a registered nurse at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

The groom is the son of Alfred II and Jean White of LaGrange and the grandson of the late Alfred and Violet White of Jacksonville.

He is a 2002 graduate of Eastern Wayne High School. He is employed as assistant manager at Walgreen’s.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

She wore a white lace sheath gown with a sweep train. The gown had a satin cuff neckline embellished with Swarovski crystals.

Her headpiece was a pearl headband with a white elbow-length two-tiered veil with satin edging embellished with Swarovski crystals and pearls.

The bride carried a bouquet of white roses with Queen Anne’s lace adorned with pearls.

Morgan Howell was her sister’s maid of honor.

Bridesmaids were Amy Bridgers, Meredith Batchelor and Ramsye Eason, cousins of the brie.

Alfred White II was his son’s best man.

Groomsmen were Tony Eason, friend of the couple, and Taylor Phelps and Daniel Phelps, cousins of the bride.

Peyton Eason, cousin of the bride, was ringbearer.

Dawn Eason, cousin of the bride, directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Heather Batchelor, cousin of the bride. Crystal Lee, friend of the bride, distributed programs.

A program of wedding music was provided by Sharon Barrow, pianist; Lori Wells, vocalist; and Brian Tingen, sound technician.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the church fellowship hall. Kay Daniels and Renee Phelps, aunts of the bride, served the wedding cake.

After a wedding trip to Atlantic Beach, the couple will reside in Goldsboro.

Events held before the wedding included a miscellaneous shower March 21 hosted by staff of Wayne Memorial Hospital Two East; and a miscellaneous shower March 2 at Free Gospel Church hosted by Kay Daniels, Renee Phelps and Bonnie Parks, aunts of the bride, and Dawn Eason, cousin of the bride.

The groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner at the home of Margaret Sutton.
