Wanda Ivelisse Nieves of Holly Springs and Scott Eric Stephenson of Holly Springs exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony March 3 at 5 p.m. at Daniels Memorial United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Glenn Everett officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Luis Angel and Wanda I. Nieves of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of the late Simeon and Antonia Nieves, Everalda Pecunia and the late Lt. Col. Noel Pecunia of Aguadilla, Puerto Rico.

She graduated from Eastern Wayne High School in 1992 and the University of North Carolina at Wilmin-gton with a Bachelor of Arts degree in criminal justice and sociology. She is employed as a survey manager at Research Triangle International.

The groom is the son of Linwood Stephenson and Kathy Stephenson of Selma and the grandson of the late F.W. and Caree Stephenson and Lee and Evelyn House of Selma.

He graduated from Cary High School in 1991. He attended the University of North Carolina. He is employed as a technician at Scotts Inc.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

She wore a strapless satin and organza drop waist gown with a chapel-length ivory train with champagne trim on the bodice and hemline and champagne and crystal beading embellishments on the bodice and train.

Her headpiece was an ivory lace Spanish mantilla.

The bride carried a clutch bouquet of white calla lilies and pink star lilies.

Aixa I. Kimes was her sister’s matron of honor, while Cristina L. Nieves, sister of the bride, was maid of honor.

Meghan Kephart, friend of the bride, was the bridesmaid.

Linwood Stephenson was his son’s best man.

Groomsmen were Craig Stephenson, brother of the groom, and Brett Buschnell, friend of the groom.

James Kimes, brother-in-law of the bride, was the usher.

Lauren Ashley Stephenson, daughter of the groom, was the junior bridesmaid.

Alexandra I. Kimes, niece of the bride, was flower girl.

Becky Weisiger, friend of the family, directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Janelle Perkins, friend of the bride. Jackie Stephenson, sister-in-law of the groom, distributed programs.

A program of wedding music was provided by Melissa Coutz of Goldsboro, pianist and organist; and Chris and Michelle Hall of Goldsboro, vocalists.

Following the ceremony, a reception dinner and dance was held at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base Officers’ Club. Heather Mills of Florida and Debbie Yelverton and Teresa Simmons of Goldsboro greeted guests. Mary Kimes served the wedding cake.

The couple reside in Holly Springs.

Events held before the wedding included a bridal luncheon Feb. 24 at the home of the bride hosted by the bride, at which time she presented gifts to her attendants; a shower Feb. 10 at Chuck E. Cheese hosted by the bridal party; a shower Jan. 27 at the home of the groom’s mother hosted by Evelyn House and Vicki Fleming; and a shower Jan. 20 at Seymour Johnson AFB NCO Club hosted by Nancy and Chica Reyes.

The groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner March 2 at Daniels Memorial Church.
