Smith - Wimberley
MIAMI, Fla. — Shannon Wimberley of Goldsboro and Derrick Smith exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Jan. 15 at 3 p.m., with Cynthia Dobbs officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Michael Wimberley of Richlands and Dominique Wimberley of Edmonton, Canada, and the granddaughter of Joanne Haswell and the late Joe Wimberley of Middlesex.
She graduated from Charles B. Aycock High School in 1996 and attended Wayne Community College. She is employed as a receptionist at Goldsboro Pediatrics.
The groom is the son of Keith and Hillary Smith of Goldsboro and the grandson of Russell and Joyce Smith and the late T.K. and Josephine Holmes of Goldsboro.
He graduated from Rosewood High School in 1996 Wayne Community College with a degree in poultry management. He is employed as a serviceman at Goldsboro Milling Co.
The bride wore an ivory strapless A-line organza gown with ribbon details on the waist and skirt.
She carried a bouquet of ivory roses..
Hillary Smith had a reception Feb. 10.
After a wedding trip to Grand Cayman and Jamaica, the couple reside in Goldsboro.
Events held before the wedding include a bridal shower hosted by Jessie Johnson, friend of the bride.
