Charity Brooks of Goldsboro and Nathan Jeffrey Marshall exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Sept. 30 at 2 p.m. at First Assembly, with the Rev. Terry Gainer officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Michael and Eve Brooks of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of Issac Brooks of Yemassee, S.C., and Avis Brooks of Camp Springs, Md., and Eugenia Cunningham and the late Garfield Cunningham of Washington D.C.

The groom is the son of Larry and Cindy Marshall of Rapid City, S.D., and the grandson of Lyle and Theone Marshall of Huron, S.D., and Richard and Ida Buchholz of Hitchcock, S.D.

The bride was escorted and given in marriage by her parents.

She wore a form-fitting satin gown with an embroidered design around the waist and a short train.

Her headpiece was a short double-layered veil with accented jewels to match the embroidered design on the dress.

The bride carried red and white roses with bead accents.

Glory Brooks and Crystal Brooks served as their sister’s maids of honor.

Bridesmaids were Tejiri Eruotor, Laura Haugh and Melanie Neureuther, friends of the bride, and Shakia Gainer, family friend of the couple.

Aaron Marshall and Jordan Marshall were their brother’s best men.

Groomsmen were Greg Frana, Jason Carter, Crispin Kretzmann and David Och, friends of the groom.

Ushers were Jeremy Brooks and Mark Brooks, brothers of the bride, Brandon Williams and Corey Young.

Mikayla Brooks, cousin of the bride, and Lily Och, goddaughter of the groom, were flower girls.

Beverly Gainer, friend of the couple, directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Gina Cintron, friend of the bride. Amie Gates and Jen Sherwood, friends of the bride, distributed programs.

Ashley Gainer, friend of the couple, was candlelighter.

A program of wedding music was provided by Tom Clark, friend of the bride’s family, pianist; Delight Gilley, friend of the bride, vocalist; and Mark Brooks, guitarist.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base Officers’ Club.

After a wedding trip to Pilot Mountain, the couple reside in Goldsboro.

Events held before the wedding included a shower in October at North Drive Elementary School hosted by special area teachers; a household items shower Sept. 16 hosted by Sheridan Forest First Assembly; and a lingerie shower in September hosted by Janelle Stowe, Tammy Derksen, Valerie Blokland and Lynda Blokland.

Claude and Frances Whitfield, friends of the bride’s family, held a rehearsal dinner Sept. 29 at Walnut Creek Country Club.
