SNOW HILL — Barbara Jean Creech and Jonathan Lee Hargett of Kinston exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Sept. 9 at 3 p.m. at Harrell’s Chapel Free Will Baptist Church, with Alvin Keener officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Dennis Earl and Cynthia Creech Elks of Walstonburg, the granddaughter of Eddie and Patsy Hall of Snow Hill and the great-granddaughter of Myrtle Creech of Snow Hill.

She is a 2002 graduate of Mt. Calvary Christian Academy and a 2006 graduate of Lenoir Community College with an associate degree in radiological technology. She is employed as an X-ray technician at Physician’s Prime Care Center.

The groom is the son of John Martin Hargett Jr. and Diane Hood Hargett of Dover, the grandson of John Martin Hargett of New Bern and Mary Hood of Dover and the great-grandson of Catherine Wood of Cove City.

He graduated from Arendell Parrott Academy in 2001 and attended Wayne Community College for agrobusiness technology. He is employed in production at Coastal AgroBusiness.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by parents.

She wore a white halter-style gown with Venise lace and beadwork on matte satin. It had a beaded border hemline with a double-panel skirt back with beaded insert on the chapel-length train.

Her single-layer elbow-length veil adorned with crystals and pearls was attached to a diamond tiara.

The bride carried a hand-wrapped, short stem bouquet of ivory hydrangeas, burgundy and white calla lilies.

Aimee Johnson was maid of honor.

Bridesmaids were Katelin Downs and Amber Hargett, sister of the groom.

Marty Hargett was his son’s best man.

Groomsmen were Landon Minges and Kris Koonce.

Ushers were Robbie Creech, uncle of the bride, and Patrick Hargett, cousin of the groom.

Cori Miller Sutton was flower girl. Kameron Hargett, cousin of the groom, and Hunter Walston were ringbearers.

Dianne Davis directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Meredith Sugg. Erin Smith distributed programs.

A program of wedding music was provided by Beth Head, pianist, and Beth Head and Larry Head, vocalists.

Following the ceremony, the bride’s family held a reception in the church fellowship building.

After a wedding trip to Gatlinburg, Tenn., the couple reside in Kinston.

Events held before the wedding included a bachelorette party Sept. 1 through 4 in Emerald Isle hosted by family and friends; a lingerie shower Aug. 19 hosted by Aimee Johnson; a bachelor party Aug. 11 through 13 at Blunt’s Creek hosted by Landon Minges; an engagement luau Aug. 6 hosted by the groom’s parents; a stock-the-pantry shower Aug. 5 hosted by family and friends of the bride; and a home and garden shower July 23 hosted by the Hood and Hargett families.

The groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner at the Broken Eagle Eatery of Kinston.
