Keri Anne Godwin and Ernest Holt “Bevo” Weaver III exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Sept. 30 at 4 p.m. at Mikes Farm, with Howard Seymour officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Danny P. Godwin and Maxine P. Godwin of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of Carrie Pike Carraway and the late Homer C. Pike Sr. of Goldsboro and the late Andres and Ozie Godwin of Middlesex.

She is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Wilmington with a Bachelor of Arts degree in therapeutic recreation and Pitt Community College’s echocardiography program. She is employed as a registered echocardiographer at Sampson Regional Medical Center of Clinton.

The groom is the son of Cyretha B. Barbee of Goldsboro and Ernest Holt Weaver Jr. and Bobbie Weaver of Boydton, Va., and the grandson of the late Ernest H. Weaver Sr., the late Wade and Francis Foster and the late Saint Elmo and Ida Burnette of Louisburg.

He graduated from Eastern Wayne High School. He is employed by Bell South of Raleigh.

The bride was escorted by her father and brother and given in marriage by her parents and brother.

She wore a formal strapless gown of Italian satin and Alencon lace. The fitted bodice was embellished with seed pearls, sequins and bugle beads. A satin ribbon accented the waist. The floor-length trumpet skirt and sweep train were adorned in garlands of beaded lace and lace motifs, entwined with satin ribbon. Satin buttons accented the back from the neckline to the hemline of the scalloped, beaded Alencon lace.

Her tiara was adorned with pearls, rhinestones and floral accents.

The bride carried a clutch bouquet of greenery and yellow roses.

Andrea Lawrence of Goldsboro sister of the groom, served as matron of honor, while Corey Thomas of Goldsboro, cousin of the bride, was maid of honor.

Chris Drake was his friend’s best man.

Clint Godwin of Elizabeth City, brother of the bride, was the groomsman.

Ushers were Andrew Lancaster and Cole Lancaster of Goldsboro, nephews of the groom.

Carolyn Thomas, aunt of the bride, directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Ann Twiddy, aunt of the bride. Hannah Twiddy, cousin of the bride, was poem reader.

Taylor Graham and Pavin Foley, cousins of the bride, distributed bubbles.

A program of wedding music was provided by Tommy Howell, keyboardist and vocalist, and the bride, vocalist.

Following the ceremony, the couple’s parents held a dinner reception at Mikes Farm. Peggy Flowers, great-aunt of the bride, and Ann Twiddy cut the wedding cake.

After a wedding trip to the Mexican Riviera, the couple will reside in Goldsboro.

Events held before the wedding included a dinner Sept. 26 at Billie’s hosted by the bride and she chose this time to present gifts to her attendants; a beach weekend Sept. 16 in Myrtle Beach, S.C., hosted by friends of the bride; a barbecue Aug. 26 at the home of the bride’s parents hosted by the bride’s family; a dinner party Aug. 19 at the Country Squire of Kenansville hosted by Terry Holloman, Barbara Holloman and Lindsey Holloman, friends of the bride; and a bath, body and lingerie shower July 29 at the home of the groom hosted by the groom’s mother, and Andrea Lawrence, sister of the groom.
