Pekolia Lavern Duncan and Tyree Demarlo Williams exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Sept. 2 at 2 p.m. at Holy Temple Church, with Pastor Marlene Duncan, mother of the bride, officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Otis and Marlene Duncan of Snow Hill and the granddaughter of the late Mary Duncan of Farmville and Essie Mae Yelverton of Snow Hill.

She a graduate of East Carolina University. She is employed as a systems analyst at Triton Services (NAVAIR).

The groom is the son of Curtis and Annie Williams Wallace of Goldsboro and the grandson of Ruth Rowe of Goldsboro.

He graduated from Eastern Wayne High School and Truckmaster CDL of Kinston.

The bride was escorted by her son, Joshual Duncan, and given in marriage by her mother.

She wore a white satin gown with a sweetheart halter. It had a corset bodice and beaded Alencon lace appliqués. A tulle floor-length skirt flowed into a cathedral train. She also wore silk white gauntlet gloves adorned with seed pearls and crystals.

Her headpiece was a crystal tiara with rhinestones.

She carried a bouquet of white calla lilies, gardenias, sweet peas and white and lavender roses adorned with a crystal stem and trailing ivy.

Sherridda Haddock and Sherry George served as matrons of honor, while Renita Williams, sister of the groom, and Patrina Atkinson, were maids of honor

Bridesmaids were Shanita Edwards, Michelle Darden and Temeika Wooten.

Anthony Best was best man.

Groomsmen were Ralph Barrett, Terry Brown, Jeremy Duncan, nephew of bride, and Greg Lewis.

Ushers were Carlos Duncan and Devone Duncan, brothers of the bride.

Doreice Duncan, niece of the bride, was the junior bridesmaid.

Aaliyah Williams, niece of the groom, and Zaria Duncan, niece of the bride, were flower girls. Jocquel Streeter, nephew of bride, was ringbearer.

Arlene Walker, godmother of the couple, directed the wedding, assisted by Jewelle Fraizer and Sharon Goines. Presiding at the register and distributing programs were Bria George and Kwanella McPhail.

Patricia Best-Isley of Charlotte was the makeup artist.

A program of wedding music was provided by Leamon Parks Jr., pianist, and Virginia Knuckles, vocalist.

Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents held a reception. Shanita Edwards of Atlanta and Sharon Goines of Greensboro cut and served the wedding cake.

After a wedding trip to Key West and the Bahamas, the couple reside in Havelock.

Events held before the wedding included a bridal shower July 1 at Outback hosted by Shanita Edwards of Atlanta, Ga., and a bachelorette party Aug. 4 through 6 in Atlanta hosted by Shanita Edwards.

The groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner at Holy Temple Church.
