Rebecca Faye Respess Thomson and William Page Barnes III of LaGrange exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Aug. 26 at 2 p.m. at Northview Baptist Church, with Pastor Terry Gainer officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Norman Alan and Frances Faye Thomson of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of James Arthur and Arlene Bertha Thomson of Ocean Springs, Miss., the late Albert Harold of Biloxi, Miss., and Lena Isabelle Brown of Fredericksburg, Va.

She is employed as a records secretary at Wayne Community College.

The groom is the son of Ivy Sue Lewis of Pikeville and the grandson of Theodore Banks and Helen Brown Hegler of Goldsboro.

He is employed as an accountant at Pate Dawson Co.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

She wore an ivory wedding dress with a tailored V-shaped, cross over empire bodice that met the embroidered midriff. Bands of embroidery edged the A-line skirt and split back over the skirt onto the chapel-length train.

The bride carried a bouquet of delphinium, white roses and bells of Ireland.

Shawna Morton was maid of honor.

Aaron Barnes was best man.

Ushers were Reed Spencer and Alex Krieger.

Stephanie Smith assisted with the guest book.

A program of wedding music was provided by Clark Stern, pianist.

A reception was held at Billie’s Backstreet.

After a wedding trip to Boston, Mass., the couple reside in LaGrange.

A rehearsal dinner was held at the Steak Barn.

Events held before the wedding included a wedding shower Aug. 24 hosted by the office of admissions and records at Wayne Community College; a wedding shower Aug. 14 at Pate Dawson Co. hosted by the finance department; and a wedding shower July 29 at Northview Church hosted by Helen Hegler, Rose Krieger and Stephanie Spencer.
