WILMINGTON — Pamela Simpkins of Goldsboro and Lt. Col. George Edward Thomas Jr. exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony July 23 at 2:30 p.m. aboard the Henrietta III, with Pastor James Weaver officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Hallie LeNeave of Wilmington and David and Nancy LeNeave Rose of Dunn and the granddaughter of the late Hallie and Nancy LeNeave of Wilmington and the late Ottis Manson and Elizabeth Johnson Melvin of Elizabethtown.

She is a graduate of Mount Olive College with a bachelor’s degree in history. She is employed as a middle school social studies teacher at Spring Creek High School.

The groom is the son of George Edward Thomas and Margaret Pauline Thomas of Caldwell, Idaho, and the grandson of the late Bernard William and Margaret Ellen Chapman of Higham Ferrers, United Kingdom.

He graduated from the University of Idaho with a bachelor’s degree in secondary education and Idaho State University with a master’s degree in athletic administration. He is serving in the Air Force as a weapon systems officer in the F-15E stationed at Mountain Home Air Force Base, Idaho.

The bride was escorted by her children, Brandi Simpkins and Trey Thomas.

She wore a candlelight strapless satin formal gown adorned with pastel pink and ivory beading. The train had covered buttons along the back and the train of the dress.

Her double-layered veil with ivory roses was attached along the crown.

The bride carried a bouquet of ivory and pink roses.

Brandi Simpkins served as her mother’s maid of honor.

Trey Thomas was his son’s best man.

Gloria Cook Sims directed the wedding.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held aboard the Henrietta III.

After a wedding trip to North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia and Washington D.C. the couple reside in Goldsboro.
