Ashley Renee Longwell and Gregory Michael Drotzur exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony Aug. 5 at 3 p.m. at Freedom Baptist Church, with Pastor David Johnson officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Roger and Jacqueline Longwell of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of Marlene Colyer of Goldsboro and Charles “Bill” Longwell of Parkersburg, Va.

She attends Mount Olive College. She is employed as an administrative specialist with Tar Heel Home Health.

The groom is the son of Corey and Margaret-Ann Drotzur and the grandson of Elizabeth Arnold and Gail Clark of Florida and Pastor Carlie and Burnice Hinnant of Goldsboro.

He is employed with Parker Advertising and is part-owner of Xpress Communications LLC.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

She wore a strapless gown with beading throughout the bodice, a shirred chiffon overlay across the waist accented by a rhinestone brooch pin and a trumpet skirt with a sweep train.

Christin Grubb served her friend as maid of honor.

Bridesmaids were Vanessa Beasley, Amber Freeman and Carrie McCall, friends of the bride.

Corey Drotzur was his son’s best man.

Groomsmen were Larry Looney, friend of the groom; Christopher Drotzur, brother of the groom; and Joshua Longwell, brother of the bride.

Ushers were Keith Chism, friend of the groom, and Brad Hinnant, cousin of the groom.

Emily Lucas, friend of the family, directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Kelsey Kuns, friend of the bride.

Hallie Batson and Rebekah Sass distributed programs. Jessica Brown and Janelle Abad distributed favors.

A program of wedding music was provided by Jim Hinnant, uncle of the groom, pianist, and Curtis Piner, friend of the couple, vocalist.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the church fellowship hall. Mattie Davis, Ira Edwards and Louise Lane were servers. Patti Baddleley served the wedding cake. Symantha Sass poured punch.

After a wedding trip to Kitty Hawk, the couple reside in Pikeville.

Events held before the wedding included a floating shower July 30 hosted by Freedom Baptist Church; a lingerie shower July 29 at Texas Steakhouse hosted by friends of the bride; and a surprise shower July 26 hosted by employees at Tar Heel Home Health.

The groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner Aug. 4 in Freedom Church fellowship hall.
