WARSAW — Melissa Rose Smith of Dudley and John Kevin Roberts exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony July 15 at 5 p.m. at the Country Squire, with Dr. Gordon Clarke officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Donnie Ray and JoAnn Rose Grant of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of Jean Daughtry Rose, the late Jack Catledge Rose and Wilbur and Marjorie Grant of Goldsboro.

She is a graduate of Goldsboro High School and Johnston Community College with an associate degree. She is employed as a floral designer with Roses Florist.

The groom is the son of John Edward and Alice Hatch Roberts of Dudley and the grandson of Wilbert Ray and Stella Odom Hatch of Dudley, Isabelle Hudson Roberts of Mount Olive and the late John Ed Roberts.

He graduated from Southern Wayne High School and Wayne Community College with an associate degree. He is employed as a driver with UPS.

The bride was escorted by Catledge McKayla Smith and Sawyer Grant.

She carried a nosegay of orange roses and white and yellow daisies.

Perrye Smith, Tripp Dale and Wesley Dean were special helpers.

A program of wedding music was provided by Stephen Webb, pianist, and Scott Smith, vocalist and guitarist.

Following the ceremony, a dinner reception was held at the Country Squire.

Events held before the wedding included a miscellaneous shower June 11 at Rhodes Friends fellowship hall hosted by the groom’s family.
