Mr. and Mrs. Skelton

Dawn Herring Kelly and Mahlon Troy Skelton exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony June 24 at 1 p.m. at the home of the bride, officiated by Pastor Don Sauls.

The bride is the daughter of Jim and Kitty Herring of Goldsboro and the granddaughter of the late Alma G. Ranone and Nicholas R. Ranone of Panama City, Fla., the late Brownie L. Morris of New Bern, Edward Ray Herring of Goldsboro and the late Louis Michael Trotto.

She is a 1988 graduate of Goldsboro High School and a 1992 graduate of North Carolina State University. She is employed as a financial counselor with K.S. Bank.

The groom is the son of Shelby and Janet Skelton of Goldsboro and the grandson of the late Irene Smith, the late Mahlon Smith and the late James and Rebecca Skelton.

He graduated from Goldsboro High School in 1986 and attended Wayne Community College. He is employed as a production specialist with Firestone of Wilson.

The bride was escorted and given in marriage by her sons, Ryan and Justin Kelly.

She wore an ivory A-line formal gown. The bodice was embellished with pearls and bugle beads.

Her headpiece was ivory satin roses and pearl sprays attached to a comb.

The bride carried a bouquet of ivory silk roses, greenery and sprays of pearls.

Angela H. Fugaro and Nicole J. Jackson served their sister as matrons of honor.

Shelby Skelton served his son as best man.

Suzanne Powell and Ann McKinzie, friends of the bride, and Judy Herring, aunt of the bride, were special helpers.

A program of wedding music was provided by Dolan and Kristen Williams, vocalists.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the home of the bride.

After a wedding trip to Myrtle Beach, S.C., the couple reside in Goldsboro.

Events held before the wedding included a miscellaneous shower June 11 at the home of Judy Jackson hosted by Ms. Jackson and a surprise lingerie shower May 30 hosted by co-workers of the bride.

A pig picking rehearsal dinner was held June 23 at the home of the bride.
