Dejuana Michelle Siler of Durham and William Franklin Henderson Jr. of Durham exchanged vows in a double-ring ceremony July 1 at 3 p.m. at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, with the Rev. Johnnie Henderson, uncle of the groom, officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Ruby Aytch Siler and the late William Perry Siler of Goldsboro.

She is a graduate of East Carolina University. She is employed as literacy coordinator with Durham Public Schools.

The groom is the son of Shelia Faye Henderson of New Bern and William Franklin Henderson Sr. of Cove City and the grandson of Ella Louise Payton of New Bern.

He graduated from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. He is employed as a partner support specialist with Cisco Systems.

The bride was escorted by her brother, Lowell L. Siler of Durham, and given in marriage by her mother.

She wore an A-line strapless gown with a chiffon overlay and a chapel-length train. The fitted bodice had a chiffon gathering and an asymmetrical beaded metallic embroidered lace on the side with matching embroidered lace framing the hem and train.

Her two-tiered elbow-length veil enhanced with matching crystals and pearls was attached to a tiara of Swarovski crystals and beads.

She carried a cascading bouquet with shades of pink vogue and rosita-vendela roses accented with stargazer lilies and pink streamers.

Michelle A. Murdock of Washington D.C. served as her friend’s maid of honor.

Honorary bridesmaids were Donna V. Bowman of Columbus, Ohio, and LaTonia A. Siler of Greensboro, sisters of the bride, and Brittany L. Henderson of Stone Mountain, Ga., daughter of the groom.

James Scott of Atlanta served as his friend’s best man.

Ushers were Brian Henderson, brother of the groom, and Jon Strickland, nephew of the bride.

Sydney Bell, goddaughter of the bride, was the flower girl.

Brenda Richardson directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Monique Reaves. Myles Strickland, niece of the bride, and William Franklin Henderson III, son of the groom, distributed programs.

A program of wedding music was provided by Kevin Alston, pianist and vocalist, and Thernarda Crudup-Harris, vocalist.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Walnut Creek Country Club. Shari Edwards was the hostess. Mary F. Delaney was the mistress of ceremonies.

After a wedding trip to Miami, the couple will reside in Durham.

Events held before the wedding included a wedding party June 10 hosted by Jeffrey Lesesne, cousin of the bride, at his home; and a bridal shower May 28 hosted by friends of the bride.

The couple’s parents held a rehearsal dinner at the home of the bride’s mother.
