HIGH POINT — Amy Nicole Brown and Dr. Ted William Parcel of Harrisburg pledged their wedding vows May 6 at 5 p.m.

Dr. Ken Bowman-Fulks officiated at the double-ring ceremony at First Presbyterian Church.

The bride is the daughter of Sue Pendergraft Wicker of High Point and Robert N. Brown Jr. of Goldsboro. She is the granddaughter of Aline Hatcher and the late Burdine Hatcher of Goldsboro and Marie Brown and the late Robert N. Brown Sr. of Mount Olive.

Parents of the groom are Ted and Kathy Parcel of Emmaus, Pa. He is the grandson of William and Jessie Bennett of Macungie, Pa., Jean Parcel of Lakeland, Fla., and the late Martin W. Parcel.

Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a white silk couture strapless gown with asymmetrical rouching. The lace-up corset back cascaded into a cathedral-length train.

For her headpiece, she chose a waist-length veil with Swarovski crystals and pearls. She carried a clutch bouquet of white and pink roses, green berries and stephanotis wrapped in French double-faced satin ribbon accented with pearls.

Tanya Hardy of Wilmington, friend of the bride, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Allison Pendergraft of Wilmington, cousin of the bride; Elizabeth Wicker of Hollywood, Calif., stepsister of the bride; Kristi Smith of Macungie, Pa., sister of the groom; and Sarah Fishel of Asheville, friend of the bride.

Matthew Hinman of Canton, Mich., was his friend’s best man. Groomsmen were Brian Parcel of Conway, S.C., brother of the groom; Michael Maffeo of Washington D.C. and Greg Alexander of Sunny Isles, Fla., friends of the groom; and Adam Smith of Macungie, brother-in-law of the groom. Ushers were Chuck Wicker of Atlanta, Ga., stepbrother of the bride, and Brian Moore of New York, N.Y., friend of the groom.

Meredith Frazier of High Point, friend of the bride, was the junior bridesmaid.

Melissa Hood and Lisa Farrar of Goldsboro, friends of the bride, were honorary bridesmaids.

Kayla Thornton of Goldsboro, cousin of the bride, was flower girl.

Dot Roundtree directed the wedding. Stacie Reeves of High Point, friend of the bride, distributed programs. Paula Carter of Greensboro, friend of the bride, distributed rose petals.

Rod Reeves of High Point, friend of the bride, was Scripture reader.

A program of wedding music was provided by Judith Millar, organist; Elizabeth Mosher, pianist; Cliff Mosher, vocalist; and Susan Gallimore, violinist.

After a wedding trip to Turks and Caicos, British West Indies, the couple is residing in Harrisburg.

The bride is an honor graduate of Pitt Community College with an associate’s degree in radiologic sciences and a diploma in computer tomography and magnetic resonance imaging. She is employed as an MRI technologist with Tristan and Associates.

The groom graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a bachelor’s degree in biology and Lake Erie Collage of Osteopathic Medicine with a doctor of osteopathic medicine degree. He completed his internship at Graduate Hospital of Philadelphia, Pa. He is completing his residency in orthopedic surgery at Pinnacle Health of Harrisburg, Pa. He was a member of Pi Kappa Phi.

Following the ceremony, a cocktail hour reception, dinner and dance were held at High Point Country Club.

On May 6, Stacie Reeves held a bridal brunch.

The groom’s family held a rehearsal dinner May 5 at Adams’s Inn of High Point.

On May 5, a bridesmaids luncheon was held at Willow Creek Country Club.

A golf tournament was held May 5 at Grandover Resort of Greensboro.

Tanya Hardy, Melissa Hood and Lisa Farrar held a boudoir shower in April in Myrtle Beach, S.C.

On April 9, the bride’s mother held a bridal shower in High Point.

Matthew Hinman held a bachelor party in April in Las Vegas, Nev.

March 23 through 26, Stacie Reeves held a lingerie shower and bachelorette weekend in Las Vegas.

The bride’s family held a bridal shower March 12 in Goldsboro.

On Feb. 10, co-workers at Lenoir Memorial Hospital held a bridal shower.

Family and friends held an engagement party Nov. 5 at the home of Charles and Sue Wicker.
