Congdon - Olson
WILMINGTON — Cindi Leigh Olson of Goldsboro and Capt. Frederick A. Congdon of Hampstead pledged their promises May 27 at 5 p.m.
Dr. Frank Hackworth officiated at the double-ring ceremony at the Graystone Inn.
The bride is the daughter of Pat Clendenning of Rib Lake, Wisc., and Brian Olson of Exeland, Wisc. She is the stepdaughter of Mel Clendenning, the granddaughter of the late Jesse and Leonia Ashcraft of Elgin, Ill., the late Gladys Olson of Bartlett, Ill., and Arnold Olson of Elgin and the stepgranddaughter of Pam Olson.
Marguerite Congdon of Hopewell, Va., and Leland Congdon of Richfield Springs, N.Y., are parents of the groom. He is the grandson of the late Charles and Veda Johnston of Sumpter, S.C., and the late Alfred and Dorothy Congdon of Salisbury, N.Y.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a white strapless satin A-line gown with a cuff neckline with an azalea pleated sash at the waist.
Bridesmaids were Devon Conley, Leslie Perez, Sarah Clendenning and Melissa Gonzalez.
Groomsmen were David Doerrer, Dan Grose, Art Daley and Joseph Lombardo.
Tom Conley and David Bowden distributed programs.
A program of wedding music was provided by Vince Stout Trio.
After a wedding trip to the Outer Banks, the couple is residing in Rose Hill.
The bride is a graduate of Mount Olive College with a bachelor’s degree. She is employed as a human resources manager with Turkington USA.
The groom graduated from Union College of New York with bachelor’s and master’s degrees and from Syracuse University of New York with a law degree. He is serving in the Marines as an attorney.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Graystone Inn.
On May 26, a rehearsal dinner was held at McCumber Clubhouse of Wilmington.
Jane Best, friend, and Devon Conley held a shower April 29 at Madison Avenue Baptist Church.
On April 15, the groom’s mother held a shower in Hopewell.
Mary Hall, sister of the groom, held a shower April 8 in Dolgeville, N.Y.
