DUDLEY — Sommer Leigh Barrow became the bride of Daniel Owen Carraway of Dudley June 24 at 4 p.m.

Pastor Doug Bartlett officiated at the double-ring lakeside ceremony at Sleepy Creek.

Sammy Brown and Pamela Casey Barrow of Dudley are parents of the bride. She is the granddaughter of Wilma S. Casey and the late Junius Casey of Dudley and Dorothy Barrow and the late Wiley Barrow of Snow Hill.

Parents of the groom are Ricky and Glenda Faye Carraway of LaGrange. He is the grandson of Emily Waters and the late William Waters of LaGrange and the late Nellie Carraway-Boyette and the late Guss Carraway of Goldsboro.

Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a white matte satin strapless gown. The bodice featured re-embroidered Alencon lace appliqués accented with seed pearls. The A-line skirt flowed into a cathedral-length train. The hemline and train were highlighted with matching re-embroidered Alencon lace complementing the top of the gown.

For her headpiece, she chose a double arch tiara of rhinestones with a two-tiered veil of silk illusion adorned with scattered crystals. She carried a bouquet of confetti and yellow and white roses.

Jessica Burnham of Greenville, sister of the bride, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Alison Game of Richmond, Va., cousin of the bride; LeeAnn Julien of Pikeville, cousin of the groom; and Sarah Smith of Wallace and Regina Grantham of Mount Olive, friends of the bride.

Ricky Carraway was his son’s best man. Ushers were Ryan Casey of Wilmington and Todd Casey of LaGrange, cousins of the bride. Groomsmen were Brad Carraway of Greenville and Lee Carraway of LaGrange, brothers of the groom; Ryan Boseman of Pink Hill, friend of the groom; and Jason Burnham of Greenville, brother-in-law of the bride.

Reagan Taylor and Ashlie Lee of Goldsboro, friends of the bride, were junior bridesmaids.

Abigail Thompson of Dudley, friend of the bride, and Alexis Radford of Tarboro, cousin of the bride, were flower girls. Banx Turnage of Wilson, cousin of the bride, was ring bearer.

Joni Turnage of Wilson, cousin of the bride, directed the wedding. Presiding at the register were Randy and Susan Sutton, friends of the bride. Dr. David and Betsy Game of Newport News, Va., cousin of the bride, distributed programs.

A program of wedding music was provided by Jody Bridgers of Goldsboro, Annette Radford of Tarboro and Pastor Doug Bartlett, vocalists.

After a wedding trip to Disney World, Fla., the couple will reside in Dudley.

The bride is a 2001 graduate of Southern Wayne High School and a 2005 graduate of Wayne Community College with a bachelor’s degree in office system technology.

The groom graduated from Eastern Wayne High School in 2000 and Wayne Community College in 2003 with an associates in applied science degree in machining technology. He is an Eagle Scout with the Boy Scouts of America. He is employed as floor leader with Uchiyama America Inc.

Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents held a reception and dance at Sleepy Creek Clubhouse. Randy and Susan Sutton of Goldsboro, friend of the bride, greeted guests. Nell Sauls and Debbie Newcomb, aunt of the couple , served the wedding cake. Barbara Radford and Diane Harrington, aunt of the couple, poured punch. Wilma Casey, aunt of the bride, was director.

On June 17, Joni Turnage, cousin of the bride, held a bridal brunch. The bride chose this time to present gifts to her attendants.

Garry and Sherry Waters, uncle and aunt of the groom, and LeeAnn Julien, cousin of the groom, held a garden and tool shower June 3.

On May 20, Wilma Casey, aunt of the bride, held a miscellaneous shower at her home.

Little Angels Christian Preschool staff held a shower May 10 at the home of the bride’s mother.

On April 23, JoAnn Bryan and friends held a miscellaneous shower at Mount Olive Church.

An engagement party was held Oct. 1 at the home of the bride’s parents.
