Sasser - Berger
LAGRANGE — Deidre Nicole Berger and Brooks Hunter Sasser exchanged wedding vows June 10 at 3 p.m.
The Rev. Brad Williamson officiated at the double-ring ceremony at LaGrange First Free Will Baptist Church.
The bride is the daughter of Fred Irwin and Rebecca Martin Berger of LaGrange. She is the granddaughter of Leroy and Joyce Martin of LaGrange and Jim and Ruth Berger of Greenville.
Parents of the groom are Paul Allen and Georgie Carolyn Sasser of Atlantic Beach. He is the grandson of George and Vivian Mumford, Katie Sasser and the late Raymond Sasser of Kinston.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a Casablanca ivory A-line gown with a band at the strapless neckline and a rounded waistline. The band had a crystal beading and sewn pearl design. The plain front skirt has a split chapel-length train with an inset of organza decorated with beadwork.
For her headpiece, she chose a two-layered corded veil.
Mary Lynn Sanderson of Greenville was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Amanda Stroud and Addie Odom of LaGrange, Coleman Bell of Kinston, Tara Carroll and Leslie Riley of Raleigh, Courtney Haughey of Greenville and Carly Myers of Winston-Salem.
Allen Sasser was his son’s best man. Groomsmen were Eric Keel of Snow Hill; Landon Minges, Miles Minges and Ben Stocks of Greenville; Reid Sasser of Kinston; Kyle Berger of LaGrange; and Brent Vaughn of Raleigh.
Madelyn Paige Sasser and Sydney Grace Sasser were flower girls. Justin Price was ring bearer.
Christine Parrish directed the wedding. Presiding at the register were Lauran Herring and Elizabeth Price. Zachary Price and Dave Herring distributed programs.
A program of wedding music was provided by Daphine Pollock, pianist, and Becky Smith, organist.
After a wedding trip to Savannah, Ga., the couple will reside in Greenville.
The bride is a graduate of East Carolina University with a bachelor of science degree in elementary education.
The groom attends Pitt Community College.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Falling Creek Country Club of Kinston.
On June 4, Becky Berger held a bridal luncheon at Broken Eagle of Kinston.
The groomsmen held a bachelor weekend June 3 through 5 in Raleigh.
On May 20, the groom’s parents held a honey-do shower.
The groom’s mother held a bridal shower May 20 at Grace Baptist Church.
On April 30, Joyce Martin, Pam Herring and Sherry Price held a bridal shower at LaGrange Church.
The bridesmaids held a lingerie shower April 21 in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
April 21 through 23, the bridesmaids held a bachelorette weekend in Myrtle Beach.
Bailey Sasser, Maxine Watkins, Donna Smith, Pam Smith and Teresa Mozingo held a bed and bath shower April 2 at First Pentecostal Holiness Church of Kinston.
On Feb. 12, Mary Lynn and Paula Sanderson held a kitchen shower at Immanuel Baptist Church of Kinston.
A rehearsal dinner was held at the Vineyard of Kinston.
