WILMINGTON — Anjali Kay Prasad and Derek Trent McCumbee were united in holy matrimony June 3 at 5 p.m.

Dondi Pace and Tom Jaski officiated at the double-ring ceremony at Scotts Hill Baptist Church.

The bride is the daughter of Gail Prasad and Dr. H.N. Krishnaprasad of Goldsboro. She is the granddaughter of Novella Bradshaw and the late David Bradshaw of Goldsboro.

Janet McCumbee and Terry McCumbee of Leland are parents of the groom. He is the grandson of Grady Beck and Beatrice McCumbee.

Given in marriage and escorted by her father, the bride wore a strapless white satin princess-style gown accented with pearls and Austrian crystals.

Tara Shannon Prasad was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Christie Bradshaw, Brittney Bradshaw, Diana Waddell, Denise Garcia, Meredith McCumbee and Peggy Whitehead.

Shane McCumbee was best man. Ushers were Rajesh Prasad, Ryan Hall, Ryan Gilbert, Eric Jordan, Kip Futch and Brandon Beaver.

Diya Shreenath was flower girl. Rohan Shreenath was ring bearer.

Dawn Gardner directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Shelly Gross. Candace Swinson and Jessica Dail distributed programs.

A program of wedding music was provided by Kin Honeycutt, pianist; Tara Shannon Prasad, vocalist; and Nicki Tart and Bruce Padgett.

After a wedding trip to Hawaii, the couple is residing in LeLand.

The bride is a graduate of Charles B. Aycock High School and Barton Nursing School. She is employed as a nurse at New Hanover Memorial Hospital.

The groom graduated from Laney High School and Cape Fear Community College. He is employed as an engineer with Eastern Instruments.

Following the ceremony, the bride’s mother held a reception at Wilmington Riverside Hilton Hotel.

Friends of the bride held a party.
