Elizabeth Ann Hawley and Donnie Ray Bissette Jr. pledged their promises June 3 at 3 p.m.

The Rev. James Herring officiated at the double-ring ceremony at Belfast Pentecostal Holiness Church.

Parents of the bride are Gerald Dwight and Patricia Gail Hawley of Kenly. She is the granddaughter of Ercell Hawley and Christine Woodard of Kenly, the late Vernie Hawley and the late Pete Woodard.

The groom is the son of Donnie Ray and Barbara Marie Bissette of Goldsboro. He is the grandson of Raymond Lassiter of Goldsboro, the late Dorothy Lassiter and the late Edwin Lee and Mary Lula Bissette of Kenly.

Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a white satin ballgown adorned with beaded lace with back button detailing and a full chapel train accented with cutout lace appliqués.

For her headpiece, she chose a long white tulle veil attached to a silver tiara. She carried a bouquet of white calla lilies and stephanotis accented with ivy and white satin streamers.

Melissa Renfrow of Kenly, cousin of the bride, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Jenny Capps and Tiffany Crocker of Kenly and Hollie Cummings of Goldsboro, friends of the bride, and Heather Aycock of Kenly, cousin of the bride.

Donnie Bissette was his son’s best man. Ushers were Jamie Hawley of Kenly, brother of the bride; Brent Pope of Kenly, cousin of the bride; Ronald Renfrow of Kenly, friend of the bride; and Jason Harris of Goldsboro, friend of the groom.

Sarah Woodard of Kenly, cousin of the bride, was flower girl. Jacob Pope of Kenly, cousin of the bride, was ring bearer.

Caroline Pate of Fremont, cousin of the groom, was the miniature bride. Jonathan Lewis of Grantham, cousin of the bride, was the miniature groom.

Frances Pope, aunt of the bride, directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Leslie Isenhour, friend of the bride. Ryne Pate of Fremont, cousin of the groom, and Matthew Lee, friend of the bride, distributed programs.

Sarah Woodard and Mikayla Pope, cousins of the bride, and Caroline Pate, cousin of the groom, were rice maids.

A program of wedding music was provided by Amy Mooring of Pikeville, friend of the bride, pianist, and Jamie Hawley, brother of the bride, and Hollie Cummings and Amy Mooring, friends of the bride.

After a wedding trip to Myrtle Beach, S.C., the couple is residing in Kenly.

The bride is a graduate of North Johnston High School of Kenly and Wilson Technical Community College with child care credentials I and II. She is employed as assistant director of Jenny’s Kiddie Kastle of Kenly.

The groom graduated from Charles B. Aycock High School and Wayne Community College. He is a member of Belfast Fire Department. He is employed as a sign technician with North Carolina Department of Transportation.

Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents held a reception in the church fellowship hall.

On June 2, the groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner at the church fellowship hall.

Marvene Creech, Emily Holland, Lena Grey Pope, Frances Pope, Elaine Coates and Bonnie Woodard, aunts of the bride, held a miscellaneous shower May 21 at Holly Springs Free Will Baptist Church of Kenly.

On May 6, the groom’s mother, Debbie Witherington, Annette Gurley, Kay Satterfield and the Rev. and Mrs. Eddie McKeel held a miscellaneous shower at Belfast Pentecostal Holiness Church.

Melissa Renfrow, cousin of the bride, and Glenda Hawley, aunt of the bride, held a pantry shower April 23 at Mt. Zion Free Will Baptist Church of Kenly.
